Ca’ Lavezzera Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow Venetian streets to find Ca’ Lavezzera honestly feels like you’re following a treasure map — and when you finally spot it tucked away in Sestiere di San Marco, you realize you’ve actually found something special. This three-star boutique hotel sits right in the heart of Venice, which sounds like travel brochure speak until you’re actually standing there at 2602 San Marco, realizing you can practically touch the famous landmarks from your doorstep. The building itself has that authentic Venetian charm you hope for but rarely find in tourist-heavy areas.
Location Magic
You know what’s remarkable about this spot? It’s genuinely in the real heart of Venice — not some marketing exaggeration. I mean, couples consistently rate the location 9.6 out of 10, and after spending time here, I totally get why. You’re literally steps away from St. Mark’s Square, but somehow the hotel manages to feel tucked away from the chaos. The narrow alleyways around here are perfect for those early morning walks before the crowds arrive, and you’ll discover tiny cafés that locals actually frequent. Getting lost in this neighborhood is half the fun, honestly.
The Room Experience
Here’s something that surprised me — the beds are genuinely exceptional. I’ve stayed in plenty of European hotels where “comfortable” is generous, but Ca’ Lavezzera takes sleep seriously. Each room feels thoughtfully designed rather than just decorated, with details that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. The spaces aren’t huge (this is Venice, after all), but they’re cleverly laid out so you never feel cramped. The windows open onto either charming canal views or those quintessential Venetian courtyards that make you feel like you’re living in a postcard.
Authentic Venetian Living
What I love about staying here is how it strikes this perfect balance between tourist convenience and authentic Venetian life. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out — they’ll point you toward the best bacaro for cicchetti or tell you which bridge offers the most stunning sunset views (and trust me, their recommendations are spot-on). The hotel itself feels more like staying in a beautifully restored Venetian home than a typical tourist accommodation. You’re not just visiting Venice; you’re actually living in it for a few days.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.0 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve experienced the place firsthand. It’s not trying to be something it’s not — no pretentious amenities or over-the-top service. Instead, it delivers exactly what you want from a Venice stay: an authentic location, genuinely comfortable accommodations, and that feeling of discovery that comes from staying somewhere locals would actually recommend. The combination of the unbeatable location and those surprisingly comfortable beds creates this perfect foundation for exploring Venice without the exhaustion that usually comes with tourist-area hotels.

We celebrated our new year in venice and stayed in this place for 3 nights. Such a very accommodating host!! They even gave us free prosecco and lots of snacks during new year. Definitely recommend and would go back! Place is close to san marco, but also far enough that you dont hear the crowd.

Super comfortable and clean. Excellent beds and pillows.
What could be improved: You can't find the hotel on your own. The owner sends you the description, and along with the Google maps, it makes it very hard to spot the place. The problem is there is no sign or the name of the hotel on the building.Brodie from United Kingdom – 1 November 2024 (9/10)
Great location as it was quiet at night but only a short walk from the busier areas. The service from the staff was lovely and welcoming. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the views were great.

Great location, clean comfortable rooms
What could be improved: I made reservation for a suit a lot of time in advance , but few hours before our arrival I was informed that our room is not available and we have to spend 2 nights in a different small room and only for the last 2 nights were moved to the suit. It was very unpleasant and uncomfortable experience!Jessica from United States – 19 October 2024 (9/10)
The suite was absolutely beautiful, we felt like we were in a movie. Every detail had been thought out and the balcony view over the canal was gorgeous . The staff were wonderful and the room came with a great selection of continental breakfast items.
The location was excellent, being quiet and peaceful but extremely close to water transport points, restaurants and shops.
They also have excellent high speed wifi for anyone who requires it for remote work.

What could be improved: there isn't anything we didn't like about our stay.Pekka from Germany – 13 October 2024 (9/10)
Very small and nice bed and breakfast like accommodations. A very quiet location is central and good. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
What could be improved: No lift available if you have heavy luggages.Marie from Canada – 27 August 2024 (9/10)
The property was in a great location in San Marco area of Venice and within walking distance to all the tourist areas. The room was very comfortable with a king size bed and a super miners bathroom. The room had a small fridge with water, a kettle for making tea/coffee and some cookies and snacks.
