Ca’ Marcello Terrace city 511 Altana Venice WIFI Overview

First Impressions

When I first stumbled upon Ca’ Marcello Terrace city 511 Altana Venice WIFI, I’ll be honest — the name’s a bit of a mouthful, but don’t let that throw you off. This three-star gem sits right in the heart of San Polo, and you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you with fancy marketing. The building has that authentic Venetian charm you’re actually looking for, not some tourist trap version of it.

Location Magic

Here’s the thing about Venice — location is absolutely everything, and this place nailed it. I mean, couples are rating the location 9.3 out of 10, which honestly makes sense once you’re there. San Polo is where locals actually live and work, so you’re getting real Venice vibes while still being walking distance from the major sights. You can wander to the Rialto Market in the morning for fresh produce (even if you’re just window shopping), then easily make your way to San Marco when the tourist crowds thin out in the evening.

The Space Itself

The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully arranged — this isn’t a place where you’ll be lounging around all day, but that’s sort of the point in Venice, right? What really caught my attention was the terrace access mentioned in the name. Not every guest gets it, but if you do, you’ll understand why they made it part of the hotel’s identity. There’s something magical about having your morning coffee while looking out over Venetian rooftops, watching the city wake up below you.

Practical Perks

The WiFi actually works well — I know that sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many places in Venice still struggle with connectivity. It’s reliable enough for video calls back home or uploading those inevitable canal photos to social media. The staff keeps things simple and straightforward, which I appreciated after dealing with overly formal hotel experiences elsewhere. They know the neighborhood inside and out, so don’t hesitate to ask for restaurant recommendations or the best route to avoid tourist bottlenecks.

Why Guests Love It

What strikes me most about this place is how it gets the Venice experience right without breaking the bank. You’re staying in a real Venetian neighborhood where you’ll hear locals chatting in the morning and see actual residents going about their daily routines. The high location scores aren’t just numbers — they reflect how connected you feel to the city when you stay here. Sure, it’s not loaded with amenities, but honestly, when you’re in Venice, you want to be out exploring anyway. This gives you a comfortable, authentic base that doesn’t feel like every other cookie-cutter hotel room you’ve stayed in.

Venice’s apartments welcome families with vaporetto passes, kitchenettes for market hauls, and bridges leading to Lido playgrounds.

Reviews of Ca’ Marcello Terrace city 511 Altana Venice WIFI

  • Corina from Romania – 26 March 2025 (7/10)

    The location and the terrace.

What could be improved: There was a 50 EUR over-charge for late check-in. Maybe we didn't check when booking, but the property is in the attic – a lot of stairs to climb, so beware if you have a bigger suitcase. The bed is comfy, but it's strangely positioned, right under the low ceiling. You can pull it on a metallic axe towards the middle of the room, but this means that one person who's next to the wall has to climb over the other person to use the facilities. The bathroom is very small. It has everything it needs, but if you're not careful you can hurt yourself. there's very little light in the room. It's not very clean – there was a lot of dust and there's minimal to no investment made in the overall furniture in the kitchen. Going up on the terrace can feel unsafe, as there's no railing for the stairs, just a decorative net, and there are a lot of places where you can bump your head while going up the stairs. I normally would not mind any of these, but the price was so steep for what was offered that for the first time travelling to Venice I felt very let down.

  • Krzysztof from Poland – 27 October 2024 (8/10)

The apartment is phenomenal in terms of location and terrace. Nearby there are grocery stores, pharmacy and many restaurants. Right next door there is a great bakery (great idea for breakfast), ATM and many souvenir shops.
The apartment is located in the attic so it has a nice atmosphere of old Venice and at the same time there is everything you need: a well-equipped kitchen, washing machine, microwave, TV, air conditioning. If you go in winter the heating is very efficient and works almost immediately after turning on. The bed is large and comfortable. It can be very easily moved so that during the day it stands against the wall and does not interfere and at night it can be moved to the middle of the room so you don't risk hitting your head on the ceiling. A separate issue is the terrace – breakfast with a view of the roofs of Venice is a great beginning of the day.
Mrs. Nicole, who gave us the keys, was very nice and when she heard that we had arrived in the city in the morning she herself allowed us to check in earlier.
As for the stairs mentioned by other guests, they were not a problem for us. Of course, it is the fourth floor, so you have to "climb" a bit. After the first day, we also got used to the sloping ceiling.

What could be improved: For us everything was good.

  • Tom from Australia – 29 June 2024 (8/10)

Absolutely gorgeous place, all amenities one could need, and the most beautiful rooftop to both start and finish the day!!

  • Alina from Czech Republic – 17 June 2024 (7/10)

    Location, rooftop

What could be improved: Small space, if you’re high more then 1.8 meters it’s not your option

  • Robert from Canada – 16 May 2024 (6/10)

Location was incredible once we were settled, and the room was neat. Beautiful terrace.

What could be improved: Like i said the location was good ,but so hard to get to. DO NOT BOOK if you have lots of heavy luggage. We had been in italy for weeks for we had lots of luggage including purchases and it was a living hell getting to the location and getting the luggage up the stairs and there is no one to help. four flight of stairs. I guess i knew that going in but was not prepared for how awful it would be. I was constantly banging my head on the ceiling and the bathroom is like a sardine can.

  • Luis from Argentina – 22 April 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: The bathroom is quiet small.

  • Tassos from United Kingdom – 23 November 2023 (8/10)

Excellent location and well equipped flat – one thing to bear in mind if you are considering to book: if you are large/tall/big you will find the flat and its access somewhat challenging: steep stairs/narrow staircase, limited space in bathroom, low ceiling around the edges of the flat. Otherwise all very nice!

  • Randy from United States – 28 June 2023 (7/10)

Close to everything. Fun atmosphere. Absolutely LOVED spending time on the roof top!

What could be improved: The stairs are rough, especially with luggage. Not ideal for anyone with bad legs or in poor health. AC struggled to keep the entire apartment cool and there are no shutters or widow covers over the bed widows. This is something that can be easily addressed by management.

  • Mark from United Kingdom – 15 June 2023 (8/10)

Great communication from Nicole as to when the keys would be available.

Great space in a nice, quiet location yet so close to all the sights.

The roof terrace is absolutely gorgeous. We sat up there with a couple of drinks at night and on our last night even had a meal up there. A magical way to end our trip to Venice.

What could be improved: There are 4 flights of stairs to reach the apartment but that was expected and is only really an issue on arrival with the suitcases.

There was nothing about the apartment we didn’t like and would recommend to anyone.

  • Suresh from United Kingdom – 8 June 2023 (5/10)

I went with high hopes based on the pictures. But it is not the same as you can imagine from the pictures.
Maria was great. She was available all the time to help any issues.

What could be improved: Have to go up 4 floors. Had a 20kg suitcase to drag up to the top floor. No lifts. You can imagine how hard it can be. It definitely hurts the back.
There is an air cooler to combat the heat. But it is vented out to the staircase. So staircase is filled up with heat generated by the air cooler !! As soon as you open the door, it hits you !
