Ca’ Morandi Overview
First Impressions
Walking down Calle Morandi in Cannaregio, you’d almost miss Ca’ Morandi if you weren’t looking for it — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star boutique hotel sits tucked away in one of Venice’s most authentic neighborhoods, where you’ll hear more Italian than English on the streets. The entrance is understated in that perfectly Venetian way, but once you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of being welcomed into someone’s elegant home rather than just another tourist hotel.
The Cannaregio Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re actually living like a local for a few days. Cannaregio is where real Venetians still go about their daily business, and Ca’ Morandi puts you right in the middle of it all. You know what’s great? You can walk to the Jewish Ghetto in about five minutes, catch a vaporetto to San Marco in ten, but when you come home at night, you escape all that tourist chaos. I mean, there’s a reason couples rate this spot so highly — it feels intimate and discovered, not like you’re staying in the middle of a theme park.
Your Home Base
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed — you’ve got to remember, this is Venice, where space is precious. What struck me was how they managed to fit everything you need without making it feel cramped. The bed was comfortable (actually comfortable, not just hotel-speak comfortable), and the bathroom was modern enough to feel fresh. The windows open onto the calle below, and there’s something magical about falling asleep to the sound of footsteps echoing off ancient stones instead of traffic noise.
Morning Rituals
Breakfast happens in this cozy little space that feels more like a neighbor’s dining room than a hotel restaurant. Nothing fancy, but the coffee is proper Italian strong, and they do a nice spread of pastries and local specialties. What I really appreciated was how the staff — and there aren’t many of them, which adds to the intimate feel — actually remembered how I liked my cappuccino after the second day. It’s those small touches that make you feel less like a tourist and more like a temporary resident.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Ca’ Morandi isn’t trying to be the fanciest place in Venice, and that’s exactly why it works so well. The location score speaks for itself — you’re perfectly positioned to explore both the touristy bits and the real Venice that most visitors never see. The staff genuinely cares about your experience, the neighborhood feels authentic, and you’re getting solid value for money in a city where that’s increasingly rare. If you want to feel like you’ve discovered a little secret in Venice rather than just booking another generic hotel, this is your spot.
Hotel in Venice reservations spike before Redentore fireworks when the lagoon fills with floating dinners.

Reviews of Ca’ Morandi
Fion from Australia – 3 January 2025 (9/10)
Very clean, great convenient location, well equipped kitchen and apartment, very quiet and tranquil, window
Look over courtyard, live like local. Host is see responsive to all requests, get hot water fixed immediately.
What could be improved: Be prepared to climb couple of steep stairs but just one level up. We manage it.Ah from Singapore – 13 April 2024 (7/10)
Property is clean and cosy.
What could be improved: Elderly people should be made aware that the apartment is on the third floor and there is no lift. To lug luggage up three stories may be challenging.Raymond from Netherlands – 7 December 2023 (9/10)
Friendly owner, everything we needed was there.
Claire from Singapore – 31 October 2023 (9/10)
Location was great, the apartment was homey and spacious. I also thought the bed was very very comfortable which added to a great stay after walking an entire day in Venice. I thought Nicoletta was very responsive and helpful when I needed help to locate the heating system.
What could be improved: Nothing about the apartment specifically at all, I wish I'd stayed longer.Aaron from United States – 18 October 2023 (8/10)
Nice apartment, clean and good location
What could be improved: Staff did take awhile to respond or didn’t at all to two basic legitimate questions. It did not affect our stay overall but is the first time I’ve seen it happen at a BnB.
Host accidentally almost charged wrong amount for tourist tax, I had to correct them, they did apologizeGene from United States – 22 September 2023 (9/10)
Very nice apartment close to all the attractions but far enough that it was quiet.
Sarah from Australia – 26 July 2023 (9/10)
Good location and plenty of space in the apartment. It was a really peaceful location, away from the hustle & bustle of the main streets. The addition of the washing machine was greatly appreciated.
What could be improved: The marble stairs are very slippery and one of my children hurt themselves so I would suggest some grip tape along the edges to prevent it happening to anyone else.Serine from Norway – 14 June 2023 (9/10)
Clean, central and really nice apartment.
What could be improved: Everything was really good.Danguole from Lithuania – 25 February 2023 (9/10)

What could be improved: There was no knive ( just for bread cutting)123marcin123 from Poland – 10 October 2022 (9/10)
