Ca’ Pierre Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow streets of Castello to find Ca’ Pierre feels like discovering a secret that only locals know about. The three-star boutique hotel sits tucked away on Salizada De Le Gate, and honestly, I almost walked past it the first time — it blends so naturally into the historic Venetian architecture. Once you step inside though, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical tourist accommodation. There’s something refreshingly authentic about the place that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled upon a genuine Venetian hideaway rather than just another hotel.

Location & Neighborhood

The Castello district is where Venice shows its real personality, away from the crowds that swarm San Marco. You’re actually in one of the top-rated areas of the city here, and I can see why couples especially love it — the rating of 9.6 from pairs speaks volumes. The neighborhood has this wonderful mix of local cafes where Venetians grab their morning espresso and small campos where kids still play football. You can walk to St. Mark’s Square in about ten minutes, but you know what? You’ll probably find yourself lingering in the quieter streets around the hotel instead.

The Rooms

I’ll be honest — the rooms aren’t huge, but this is Venice, so that’s expected. What surprised me was how comfortable everything felt, especially those beds that guests keep raving about. The property really has earned its reputation for providing a great night’s sleep, which matters more than you might think when you’re walking on stone streets all day. The rooms have that refined Venetian charm without feeling stuffy or overly formal. Small details like the way morning light filters through the windows and the quality of the linens make up for any space limitations.

Daily Life at the Hotel

Mornings here have a gentle rhythm that matches the neighborhood perfectly. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work well — they’re the kind of people who remember your name and actually have good restaurant recommendations (not just the touristy ones). I mean, when you’re staying in a place with a 9.3 rating, you expect good service, but Ca’ Pierre delivers it without any pretense. The common areas invite you to linger with a book or plan your day, and there’s always someone around who can help you navigate Venice’s more confusing aspects.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back to Ca’ Pierre is that perfect balance between being close to everything important while feeling removed from the tourist chaos. The excellent location score of 9.2 isn’t just about proximity to attractions — it’s about being in a part of Venice that still feels lived-in and real. You get the authentic neighborhood experience during quiet morning walks, then you’re at the Doge’s Palace or catching a water taxi within minutes when you want the classic Venice moments. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re visiting Venice rather than just checking it off a list.

Reviews of Ca’ Pierre

  • Barbora from Czech Republic – 17 March 2025 (9/10)

Excellent value for money in the city center of Venice.
We travelled to Venice with my mom and sister and really appreciated the option of 3 separate bedrooms while sharing the common spaces in the kitchen.
The location was easy to reach, about 15min from Rialto and 5min from the nearest vaporetto.
There is a cafe, bakery and some local shops just next to the apartment.

What could be improved: Would have appreciated some coffee in the kitchen for breakfast 🙂

  • Labina from North Macedonia – 29 November 2024 (10/10)

it is fantastic quite location and very nice local restaurants and bars around it.

  • Gabriele from United Kingdom – 30 October 2024 (9/10)

Amazing location in a quiet street with bars and a green grocer. Short walk to Arsenale. Very clean and spacious flat, comfortable furniture. Communication with Lorenzo was fast and reliable. Heating was a real blessing.

What could be improved: To see mosquitoes in October was surprising. Some more deterrent would be good and – as many people here said – an electric fast boil kettle for hot water would improve a morning tremendously.

  • Michele from Canada – 25 October 2024 (9/10)

Lots of space and having individual rooms for each person was great. Location was perfect – grocery store close by allowed us to make some meals at the apartment.

What could be improved: A bit humid but imagine this is to be expected in Venice!!

  • Susan from United Kingdom – 23 September 2024 (10/10)

Location is excellent, away from the hustle and bustle but really close enough to walk to everything. 15 minutes from St. Marks. 15 minutes to nearest Vaparetto. Great bar just downstairs too! There are steps up into the flat as mentioned but we did not find this a problem. Property is lovely, just as descriped, a real taste of proper venice, I loved looking out of all the windows into the gorgeous courtyards below. Was great to have the air con, even in September the rooms did get a little warm but aircon was extremely efficient. We switched on to cool the apartment down when we came home at the end of the day, then switched off at night.

What could be improved: Everything was great, we loved it.

  • Ha from United States – 12 September 2024 (9/10)

Quite neighborhood with local restaurants and grocery. The house is very clean.

  • Kathryn from United Kingdom – 30 June 2024 (10/10)

Really clean, fantastic location and quiet but with bars and restaurants nearby. The host was really helpful in telling us about the area and it was conveniently located with nearby shops but away from the main hustle and bustle. Was only a short few minutes walk from the main parts.

What could be improved: Can’t really think of anything to fault

  • Barbara from United States – 30 June 2024 (9/10)
