Ca Riolfo by Venicevillas, Rialto Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow streets of San Polo to reach Ca Riolfo by Venicevillas, Rialto feels like you’re following a treasure map — and honestly, that’s exactly what you’re doing. This three-star property sits tucked away on Calle dei Cinque, which sounds fancy but is actually just a quiet little street that most tourists rush past without noticing. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the Rialto Bridge, but somehow it feels like you’ve discovered this secret corner of Venice that belongs just to you.

The Location Magic

You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You get all the benefits of being in the heart of everything without the chaos that comes with it. The property earned a 9.7 location score, and after staying here, I totally get why. Step out the door and you’re practically at the Rialto Market — perfect for grabbing fresh fruit or just watching the morning bustle of vendors setting up their stalls. The vaporetto stops are right there too, so getting anywhere else in the city is actually easier than from some of the more “central” hotels that charge twice as much.

The Room Experience

The room itself has that authentic Venetian charm you’re hoping for without feeling like you’re sleeping in a museum. The ceilings have those gorgeous exposed beams, and the windows — well, they open onto views that remind you you’re definitely not in Kansas anymore. What I appreciated most was how they’ve managed to blend old-world character with modern comfort. The beds are properly comfortable (not always a given in historic buildings), and there’s decent storage space, which matters more than you’d think when you’re living out of a suitcase.

Daily Rhythms

Mornings here have this lovely rhythm to them. You’ll hear the city waking up gradually — first the delivery boats puttering along the canals, then the coffee bars firing up their machines. There’s something about being in San Polo that feels more residential than touristy, even though you’re right in the thick of things. I found myself popping out for morning coffee at the little bar around the corner, where the locals actually outnumber the visitors — always a good sign. The whole area comes alive in this authentic way that you don’t get when you’re staying near St. Mark’s Square.

Why Guests Love It

Couples particularly seem to fall for this place, and I can see why — there’s something romantic about having your own little hideaway while still being steps from Venice’s most iconic spots. The 8.5 rating reflects what you actually experience: solid comfort, unbeatable location, and that feeling of staying somewhere special without the premium price tag. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it nails what most people actually want from a Venice stay — authenticity, comfort, and a location that makes you feel like you’ve got the city figured out.

Venice hotels keep guests near Rialto markets, hidden cicchetti bars, and vaporetto docks.

  • Gillian from United States – 7 July 2024 (9/10)

    location was very good

What could be improved: pull out bed was not so comfortable

  • Darryl from United Kingdom – 5 July 2024 (9/10)

Central location just next to The Rialto Bridge. The agents sent very helpful information of things to see, places to eat etc. Spotlessly clean with everything we needed.

  • Ayça from Turkey – 27 June 2024 (9/10)

Location is perfect! Check in is easy. Staff is helpful. Wifi is fast. Street is calm. Flat is clean. But the pillows were really thin. Like there is no pillow.

What could be improved: The pillows

  • Alina from United Kingdom – 18 June 2024 (9/10)

The location was amazing, very central. The flat was clean, the host very helpful – even sent us some recommendations where to eat

What could be improved: Check in progress was a little complicated as we were supposed to get the keys ourself from the locker, but couldn’t do it and had to wait for the host to come and unlock the door for us.

  • Jason from United States – 30 October 2023 (9/10)

What could be improved: Bed was too firm for my preference but it was in fine condition.

  • Denise from Canada – 17 October 2023 (9/10)

Close to everything and great size

  • Cristina from Italy – 11 September 2022 (9/10)

Clean, very comfortable and in a wonderful and safe location

  • Uk from United Kingdom – 30 August 2022 (9/10)

The apartment is very clean and close to all the major attractions and two minutes walk from the Rialto bridge.

The shower is very tiny, apart from that the place has lots of room for four people.

What could be improved: The apartment had all the usual facilities, such as washing machine, fridge/ freezer and microwave. Though toaster wasn’t great, it wasn’t working for us but the property has lots of room and it was clean, that what we liked most about the property.

  • Aoife from Ireland – 24 July 2022 (9/10)

Everything – the apartment was super clean with all needed facilities and in the perfect location.

    What could be improved: Nothing
