Hotel Description

Nestled in the charming Dorsoduro district of Venice, the three-star Ca’ Turelli Dimora Storica offers an authentic Venetian experience steeped in historical elegance. Located at Fondamenta di Borgo – Dorsoduro 1162, this well-situated hotel boasts an impressive 8.4 rating, reflecting its consistent dedication to guest satisfaction and quality service. The Dorsoduro area is known as one of Venice’s most picturesque and culturally rich districts, providing visitors with a perfect balance of accessibility to major attractions while remaining comfortably removed from the more tourist-heavy areas of the city. From this strategic location, guests can easily explore the nearby Gallerie dell’Accademia, which houses Venice’s most impressive collection of pre-19th century art, or stroll to the iconic Peggy Guggenheim Collection, showcasing masterpieces of modern art. The hotel’s position along one of Venice’s characteristic fondamenta (waterside walkways) ensures that guests immediately immerse themselves in the unique ambiance that has made this floating city a global treasure.

Ca’ Turelli Dimora Storica, as suggested by its name (“Dimora Storica” meaning “historic dwelling”), preserves the charm and character of traditional Venetian architecture while providing all the modern comforts travelers expect. The building itself tells stories of Venice’s illustrious past, with architectural elements that harken back to the city’s golden age as a maritime republic. Inside, guests are welcomed with warmth and professionalism, characteristics that have contributed to the hotel’s strong 8.4 rating. The accommodations thoughtfully blend historical elements with contemporary amenities, creating spaces that are both comfortable and evocative of Venice’s unique cultural heritage. Many rooms offer enchanting views of the surrounding canals or picturesque Venetian rooftops, providing guests with postcard-worthy vistas from the comfort of their accommodations. The attentive staff excel at providing personalized recommendations, helping visitors discover both renowned landmarks and hidden local treasures that might otherwise be overlooked.

What truly sets Ca’ Turelli Dimora Storica apart is its authentic connection to Venice’s past and present. Unlike large chain hotels, this intimate establishment offers guests the opportunity to experience Venice as a temporary resident rather than a passing tourist. Morning coffee can be enjoyed while watching gondolas glide by, and evening aperitivos can be savored against the backdrop of Venice’s golden hour lighting that has inspired artists for centuries. The Dorsoduro district itself adds tremendous value to any stay, with its labyrinth of narrow streets revealing artisan workshops, family-run restaurants serving traditional Venetian cuisine, and quiet campos (squares) where locals gather. From this well-rated accommodation, the magnificent St. Mark’s Square is accessible by a scenic walk or a romantic vaporetto (water bus) ride along the Grand Canal. Ca’ Turelli Dimora Storica, with its perfect combination of historical character, modern comfort, and ideal location, represents Venetian hospitality at its finest, offering an experience that goes beyond mere accommodation to become an integral part of your Venetian journey.

The place was clean and comfy. The hosts are INCREDIBLE! Breakfast is also awesome. 🙂 Would definitely recommend it to everybody and would stay here again. Thank you so much for such an incredible experience!

  • Jevgenia from Estonia – 17 March 2025 (8/10)

We really enjoyed our stay in Ca’ Turelli! Firstly, great location – Accademia bridge and Gallerie dell'Accademia 5 min walk, campo Santa Margarita also a 5 min walk! Also a great shawarma & kebab & pizza (Toletta & Halal) place a 3 min walk. It was clean, lots of towels, anti mosquito electric spray, okay WiFi speed. The smell of the warm brioches in the morning was magical! Friendly staff member warmed them up every morning for us and made good coffee too – thank you! Check in and check out was quick and everything on time. Overall no issues. The only thing we can mention is that the building is quite old – as all of them in Venice are – so you can hear the neighbours if they are noisy. Out neighbours were nice and quiet so we slept fine.

  • Ana from United Kingdom – 9 November 2024 (8/10)

The location was excellent. Central but tucked away so it was quiet. I could just come and go as I pleased and it suited me perfectly. It was close to restaurants, bars, coffee shops and sandwich shops. Staff were friendly and helpful. My room and bathroom were spacious.

What could be improved: The breakfast could have been better. It was a yogurt and then mostly sweet things – croissant, cakes, biscuits, bread roll. It would have been nice to have something savoury – cheese, sliced meats, some fruit. I don't think they have cooking facilities so I think they are limited in what they can offer.

Light but delicious breakfast, really lovely staff who made the check in very seamless, and great location.

  • Hillary from United States – 13 October 2024 (8/10)

This B’n’B is about a 20 minute walk to major tourist destinations, but the neighborhood is quiet and has great food. Mateo was so sweet and accommodating!

What could be improved: The doors lock from both the outside and the inside but somehow every night, despite us locking the door, it was opened. The bed was very hard.

  • Gillian from United Kingdom – 9 October 2024 (9/10)

Close to everything you needed to be

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Gail from Australia – 27 September 2024 (9/10)

Very clean and comfortable. The Concierge was friendly and very helpful at all times. He also made wonderfull coffee in the morning.😁
    Close to water bus stops.

What could be improved: It was a little hard to find in the middle of a storm, so a brighter name sign would be in order.

  • Mary from Sweden – 10 September 2024 (9/10)

Spacious, clean, room. Good wifi. Excellent location – close enough to everything, but in a quiet pocket, off the tourist strip. Nice breakfast.

What could be improved: I found the bed a little uncomfortable
