Carlo’s Studio by Venicevillas Overview

First Impressions

Tucked away on a quiet San Polo street, Carlo’s Studio by Venicevillas feels like stumbling upon someone’s perfectly curated Venetian hideaway. The building itself has that weathered charm you see all over Venice — the kind where every stone tells a story, but inside it’s been thoughtfully updated without losing any of its character. I mean, when you’re dealing with a three-star place in this city, you’re usually bracing yourself for cramped quarters, but this one actually surprised me.

The Space

The studio apartment setup works brilliantly here — it’s essentially one well-designed space that doesn’t feel cluttered or awkward like some of these converted places do. The kitchen area is compact but functional, which honestly comes in handy when you want to grab breakfast without dealing with crowds or just store some wine you picked up at the local bacaro. The sleeping area feels separate enough that you’re not constantly staring at your suitcase, and there’s actually decent storage space — something you definitely can’t take for granted in Venice.

Location Perfection

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re in San Polo, which means you get that authentic neighborhood vibe without being stuck way out in Castello somewhere. The Rialto Market is basically around the corner, and you can walk to San Marco in maybe fifteen minutes if you know the shortcuts through the campos. But honestly, you’ll probably find yourself just wandering the San Polo streets because there’s always some little osteria or wine bar you haven’t tried yet. The couples who stay here get it — it’s romantic without being touristy, if that makes sense.

What Sets It Apart

The 9.5 rating isn’t just because it’s cute — though it definitely is that. It’s the little details that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. The Wi-Fi works properly, the shower has decent pressure (you’d be amazed how rare this is in Venice), and the windows actually open to let in fresh air instead of just canal dampness. Plus, the Venicevillas team knows what they’re doing — they’ve been managing properties here long enough to understand that good communication and quick responses matter way more than fancy amenities when you’re dealing with a historic city that can be, well, unpredictable.

Why Guests Love It

Look, Venice can be overwhelming, especially if you’re staying somewhere that feels like a hotel room with zero personality. This place gives you a base that actually feels like home — somewhere you want to come back to after a long day of getting lost in the maze of bridges and campos. The fact that couples rate it so highly tells you something about the atmosphere here. It’s intimate without being cramped, central without being chaotic, and authentic without sacrificing comfort. For a three-star property in one of the world’s most expensive cities, that’s honestly pretty remarkable.

Hotel in Venice reservations spike before Redentore fireworks when the lagoon fills with floating dinners.
