Hotel Description
Welcome to the exceptional Casa Buccari, a charming 3-star boutique hotel nestled in the historic heart of Venice, Italy. Boasting an impressive guest rating of 9.6, this hidden gem offers an authentic Venetian experience that consistently delights travelers seeking quality accommodations with a personal touch. Located on Calle Buccari in the atmospheric Castello district, one of Venice’s most genuine neighborhoods, Casa Buccari provides the perfect balance of tranquility and accessibility to the city’s iconic attractions. The hotel’s outstanding rating reflects its commitment to exceptional service, attention to detail, and the unique Venetian hospitality that makes a stay here truly memorable.
Castello, the district where Casa Buccari is situated, represents the authentic soul of Venice, away from the most crowded tourist paths yet conveniently positioned for exploration. Just a short walk from the hotel, guests can discover the magnificent Arsenale, Venice’s historic shipyard and naval power center, now a prominent venue during the renowned Venice Biennale. The verdant Giardini Pubblici (Public Gardens) are also nearby, offering a refreshing respite from urban exploration. St. Mark’s Square, the glorious epicenter of Venetian culture and history, is within comfortable walking distance, allowing guests to easily experience the breathtaking St. Mark’s Basilica, the imposing Doge’s Palace, and the romantic views of the Grand Canal. The hotel’s strategic location in the eastern part of Venice also provides convenient access to the picturesque islands of Murano, famous for its artistic glass production, and Burano, celebrated for its colorful houses and delicate lace work, via vaporetto water buses.
Casa Buccari embodies the intimate charm that defines the most treasured Venetian accommodations. Unlike large, impersonal hotel chains, this exquisitely maintained property offers guests an immersive experience in authentic Venetian living. The exceptionally high 9.6 rating attests to the hotel’s commitment to creating memorable stays through attentive service and careful attention to guest needs. The property likely features traditional Venetian décor elements – perhaps Murano glass chandeliers, rich textiles, and classic furnishings – blended thoughtfully with modern amenities to ensure comfort without sacrificing character. Morning breakfasts at Casa Buccari might include fresh local pastries and strong Italian coffee, preparing guests for days of exploration through Venice’s labyrinthine streets and tranquil canals. As evening falls, the hotel’s location in the more residential Castello district offers a welcome retreat from the day’s adventures, with nearby local restaurants serving authentic Venetian cuisine away from the tourist crowds. Whether you’re planning your first visit to La Serenissima or returning to deepen your connection with this incomparable city, Casa Buccari provides not just accommodation but a doorway into experiencing Venice as locals do – with authenticity, warmth, and unmistakable Venetian charm.

The apartment, located on the ground floor, with its own private garden was delightful. Clean, a good size and with lots of facilities, it was perfect for a wonderful stay in Venice. Situated in a peaceful area of Sant'Elena, with lots of greenery around and plenty of local restaurants etc.
The owner, Rebecca, was both communicative and helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back again at some point.
Grazie mille!Thibault from France – 30 December 2024 (10/10)
Spacious and very clean apartment, big enough to accommodate up to 4 people and located within 20-30 min of Piazza San Marco (via vaporetto). The kitchen and bathroom are modern and fully furnished, with a washing machine also available.
The entire neighborhood is quiet and very friendly, with a bar and pharmacy nearby.
Thanks again to the owner for providing us directions and general recommendations for our trip! We had a great time.Fiona from Italy – 19 November 2024 (10/10)
The flat was really well equipped and even had basics like olive oil, vinegar, coffee and other items. It was great to have a lounge area and well equipped kitchen. There was a patio garden outside so the flat would be excellent in warmer weather. The area was really quiet so great to come back to. There's a bar not far away and they were great. Local bar with lots of locals in it, so you don't get ripped off and they were friendly. Super easy check in/out. We booked here as we were going to Arsenale. It is a bit out of the main drag BUT I'd say its worth it as its quiet and only a few stops on the boat to town.
What could be improved: Don't think there's a supermarket locally so you need to shop around town where there are Conads and co ops. 2 co ops other side of Giardini and a Conad next to Zattere. A more detailed housebook would have been useful as when you are only there for a few days you don't know where anything is and it saves time to have a few local hints. We may have missed something locally, so don't take my word on that. 2 local shops we found were a good fruit & veg shop (not super friendly but fine) and a grocer's that sells bread and grocery items OK but pretty unfriendly even though I speak Italian so be prepared. Don't buy their small water bottles though as they cost at least double/treble the cost of a supermarket at around 5 euros x 6 pack. Wait and get them at a co op or Conad where they cost 1.99 for 6Nikolas from Canada – 27 September 2024 (10/10)
Well suited for a family. We liked the quiet neighbourhood of S. Elena for the kids as there was a playground nearby, close waterbus, and all the amenities we needed nearby. The neighbourhood is charming with a local fruit stand, deli/butcher, cafe, and such. That said, it is sleepy and everything closes fairly early, which is fine with kids, but may not be as appreciated by those who unencumbered by children and are looking for some night life.
What could be improved: This isn’t a problem with the property per se, but just a fair warning that mosquitoes can be bad during the summer, so while the patio is lovely, it may not be functional if you/your kids react poorly to bites, such as mine.Girts from Latvia – 20 August 2024 (10/10)
Clean, spacious, and well-equipped apartment with a private courtyard in a green and quiet neighbourhood. Two minutes from St. Elena vaporetto stop, about 30 min. walk to Piazza San Marco, right next to Giardini della Biennale, one vaporetto stop from Lido and all the beaches. The neighbourhood feels very authentic and not touristy at all. This was a perfect place for our family vacation in Venice.
What could be improved: The location may not be perfect for those who prefer livelier and more touristy neighbourhoods. There are very few shops and restaurants around, most of which close during the riposo, and in the afternoon the island feels almost abandoned.Richard from Italy – 15 April 2024 (10/10)
Excellent accommodation facilities
Very comfortable
Met all our expectations
What could be improved: A bit off the way, but a good walk from train stationGenesis from Peru – 3 March 2024 (10/10)
It was so cozy and feels like home
Csenge from Hungary – 13 November 2023 (10/10)
Everything was beautiful, the owner is very helpful and kind. It was a very nice stay.
Roel from New Zealand – 30 July 2023 (9/10)
Almost everything
What could be improved: The place was not ready when we arrived. We can't really blame the lady for being late if the last people that stayed here were as messy as the last accommodation she tidied up. Maybe hire more people to help.Shaun from Australia – 30 July 2023 (10/10)
1. Great location as it’s located next to a park, which our kids loved, and it felt like a really local area. 3 minute walk from the ferry service, with many options for getting to the main parts of Venice. We could also take a 5 minute ride to the beach (Lido), and our kids had a fantastic time there too. There are little shops close by for everything you need to cook.
2. It felt like a home away from home. The kitchen has everything, there were toys and books for our kids, plus a nice little courtyard garden to sit in. Everything is really new.
I’m not doing the accommodation justice, but it had every creature comforts and the location suited our family’s preference for staying somewhere local, away from hustle bustle.
What could be improved: Nothing at all.
