Casanova Apartment Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow alleyways of San Marco to find Casanova Apartment, you’ll probably pass it twice before realizing you’ve arrived — and that’s actually part of its charm. This three-star property sits tucked away on Calle de la Bissa, which honestly feels like discovering a secret that only locals know about. The building itself has that weathered Venetian elegance you see in postcards, but when you’re standing right there, it hits differently. You know what I mean — there’s something about being in the actual heart of Venice that makes even the most jaded traveler pause for a moment.

Location Magic

Here’s the thing about Venice — location is everything, and Casanova Apartment absolutely nails it. I mean, couples are rating this spot 9.6 out of 10, which tells you something right there. You’re literally steps from St. Mark’s Square, but far enough down these winding streets that you escape the worst of the tourist crush. The morning walk to grab coffee feels like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it. What really struck me was how you can slip out for an evening stroll and find yourself at the Rialto Bridge or wandering along the Grand Canal without any real planning — everything just unfolds naturally from here.

The Space Itself

The apartment setup works really well, especially if you’re the type who likes having your own little corner of Venice rather than a traditional hotel room. There’s something refreshing about having space to spread out a bit, maybe grab some fresh bread from a local bakery and actually enjoy it properly. The interiors strike that balance between authentic Venetian character and modern comfort — you’ll find original details that remind you where you are, but you won’t be struggling with quirky plumbing or dodgy WiFi. It’s clear they’ve thought about what actual travelers need, not just what looks good in photos.

Getting Around

Venice can be tricky to navigate, but staying here makes it surprisingly manageable. The vaporetto stops are close enough that you’re not dragging luggage through endless bridges, but you’re also in prime walking territory for most of the major sights. I found myself using water taxis less than expected because honestly, wandering these streets becomes part of the whole experience. The neighborhood has that perfect mix of tourist essentials and local life — you’ll find decent restaurants that aren’t completely overpriced, plus those little shops where you can grab basics without hunting around.

Why Guests Love It

That 8.5 rating makes sense when you spend time here. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Venice, but it delivers exactly what most people actually want — a comfortable base in an incredible location that doesn’t break the bank. The fact that it’s got such high marks for location (9.7!) really shows through in daily life here. You wake up in Venice, not in some distant corner where you need to commute to Venice. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about having your own little Venetian pied-à-terre, even if it’s just for a few nights. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re experiencing the city rather than just checking it off a list.

What could be improved: Not applicable

  • Jake from United States – 16 June 2024 (9/10)

Excellent location! Very central to Ponte Rialto and Piazza San Marco, close to water bus stations, easy to access. The accommodations were clean and simple, perfect for a solo traveler or a couple.

What could be improved: The mosquitos were a bit annoying, but that’s Venice in the summer – I bet I would have the same experience anywhere.

  • Victoria from Australia – 17 May 2024 (9/10)

Location was amazing, especially considering the price. Walked out from door to the vibrancy of Venice. Great storage. Had everything I needed. Great communication.

  • Ankit from Ireland – 15 November 2023 (8/10)

    Nice location, clean and spacious

What could be improved: Pull out bed, small bathroom and kitchen, limited ventilation, fine for short stays

  • Shubham from India – 1 October 2023 (9/10)

The location is great and the room is spacious. It was very clean and had everything to make our stay comfortable.

  • Anastasiia from Ukraine – 3 July 2023 (9/10)

Great location; very clean & well-maintained apartments!

  • Christopher from United States – 11 October 2022 (9/10)

Location is superb–easy 10-minute walk to Accademia or San Marco, around the corner from Rialto bridge, on top of Gelateria Suso, easy access to Conad supermarket.

Really clean, with plenty of towels, sheets etc. The apt is very small–suitable for 1-2, but it has a real kitchen and real bathroom.

Owner met me on site for check-in and transfer of keys.

What could be improved: The water temperature in the shower was inconsistent, varying from cold to scalding every 2 minutes. This did not happen with the sink.

The rosticceria downstairs leads to some odors wafting upstairs. Not really a problem when windows are closed, but it was noticeable in the public stairwell.

  • Craig from United Kingdom – 12 June 2022 (9/10)

Perfect Apartment, perfect central location right by Rialto Bridge. Absolutely no street noise at night so you get a perfect night’s sleep.
our host went the extra mile and met us off the boat and helped us to the apartment and gave us the best advice ‘forget the map, get lost in Venice’….. first class would highly recommend

What could be improved: No negatives. no lift in building though so not suitable for those with mobility issues.

  • Caitlin from United Kingdom – 14 April 2022 (9/10)

Great location, lovely apartment, excellent host.

What could be improved: No complaints at all, it was a great stay.
