DolceVita Apartments N 465 Biennale Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow streets of Castello to find DolceVita Apartments N 465 Biennale feels like discovering a hidden gem — which, honestly, is exactly what this place is. The building sits on Calle Grimana, one of those quintessentially Venetian addresses that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. This is a three-star property, but the location alone makes it punch well above its weight class. The moment you arrive, you understand why guests consistently praise this spot for its exceptional positioning within the city.

The Castello Advantage

You know what’s brilliant about staying in Venice‘s Castello district? You’re close enough to all the major sights but far enough from the tourist madness that engulfs San Marco. The property sits in what locals consider the top-rated area — and trust me, that 9.8 location score isn’t just marketing fluff. From here, you can actually walk to the Biennale venues (hence the name), the Arsenale, and St. Mark’s Square without dealing with the water taxi chaos that tourists usually face. This strategic positioning makes exploring the city on foot both practical and genuinely enjoyable.

The Space Itself

The apartment setup is what really sets this place apart from your typical hotel experience. Each unit feels more like staying at a well-connected friend’s place than a standard tourist accommodation. The spaces are thoughtfully designed — not huge by any means, but cleverly laid out in that way Venetians have mastered over centuries of making the most of limited space. You’ll find everything you need without the sterile feel of chain hotels, and honestly, after a day of wandering Venice’s maze-like streets, having your own little retreat feels pretty perfect. The kitchen facilities are well-equipped for preparing simple meals or storing provisions from local markets.

Why Couples Keep Coming Back

There’s something about this spot that couples absolutely love — they’ve rated it 9.5 for romantic getaways, and I totally get why. Maybe it’s the intimate scale of the building, or how you can slip out for an early morning walk along the nearby fondamenta before the crowds arrive. The neighborhood has this authentic residential feel where you’ll see locals heading to work and kids playing in the campos, which gives you a glimpse of real Venetian life that most visitors never experience. It’s the kind of place where you can actually connect with the city rather than just pass through it.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people talking about DolceVita isn’t just the prime location (though that’s obviously a huge draw). It’s the combination of being perfectly positioned while maintaining that neighborhood authenticity that’s getting harder to find in Venice. You’re literally a short walk from some of the city’s most important cultural sites, yet you can still grab your morning coffee at a local bar where the barista might actually remember your order by day three. For travelers who want to experience Venice beyond the tourist trail — but still need easy access to all the must-sees — this place hits that sweet spot perfectly. Whether you’re visiting for the Biennale or simply seeking an authentic Venetian experience, this property delivers on all fronts.

Locals suggest to book apartments in Venice around Cannaregio for artisan glass studios and uncrowded canals.

Reviews of DolceVita Apartments N 465 Biennale

  • Soni from Greece – 2 April 2025 (9/10)

The location is great. It isn't the best room you ever stayed, but taking into account Venice standards and prices, we were very happy. The room was value for money.

What could be improved: Beds could be more comfortable. The stairs maybe a bit of a problem for elder peolpe or people with mobility issues. For us it was not a problem.

  • Carla from Spain – 27 July 2024 (9/10)

The location is great … calm but excellently communicated with the arsenal ferry stop, and 20 mins from San Marco and Rialto ; also next to via garibaldi full of cute restaurants and cafe , not super touristic or crowded but nice and with good taste . The apartment is nice and comfortable, simple but has everything to have a good stay . The ac worked great . The kitchen was well equipped. The host were kind and attentive, they helped a lot .

What could be improved: The beds and pillows can be updated . It is a second floor by stairs (very standard in Venice so not a big drama) and the keys are quite tricky.

  • Prashant from India – 23 June 2024 (9/10)

The host arranged an agent to pick up from boat station to handover the key and drop at property. Though I have to pay late check in fees of 50 euro.
Quite a big room and super comfortable for 3 people. It has a sofa cum bunk bed, so you may accommodate 4th person.
On the sides of canal and sea.
It is on one of the main streets of Venice, so lots of restaurants on the streets.
    It has washing machine.

What could be improved: Paid a fees of 50 euro for late check in.
Quite far from boat station, so if you have heavy luggage you need to drag till property as island do not have other means to reach your destination.

  • Hubbard from United States – 22 June 2024 (9/10)

Fantastic location with tons of food options very close by. The vaparetto (water taxi) is a short walk away, making moving around the city very easy. The kitchen was a great size and decently stocked.

What could be improved: My husband is tall (6'1") and the ceilings on the stairways heading up to the property are quite low–he had to always be watching that he didn't bump his head.

  • Richard from Canada – 11 June 2024 (8/10)

Location was ideal. Clean apartment. Responsive landlord.

What could be improved: Unfortunately, AC conked out. Really hot weather and couldn't help mosquitos were around. Landlord was good to provide fans when it was evident AC couldn't be fixed before our stay ended. They authorized a discount for the inconvenience. They really tried to help us.

  • Robert from United Kingdom – 11 March 2024 (8/10)

What could be improved: The bed, quite hard and very flat pillows.

  • Simay from Italy – 27 January 2024 (8/10)

It has everything that you want kitchen full equipped also have towels and hairdryer

What could be improved: They take late check in fee 50€ only for 1 hour late

  • Ryan from United Kingdom – 12 October 2022 (8/10)

    great location and host

What could be improved: there was no mosquito deterrent, it was a nightmare in the evening and night even after having the windows closed, you could benefit from netting or complementary spray

  • Jarrell from United States – 19 September 2022 (9/10)

The apartment was spacious and very clean. The furnished kitchen was very helpful and we loved that it had a clothes washing machine! The hostess was very helpful and nice, too.

What could be improved: Just a suggestion that the owner include instructions for the washing machine and the coffeemaker in English for those of us who don’t use those kinds.
Very minor things like hand soap only at one of the sinks and only the one roll of toilet paper. You do need to be able to climb some fairly steep steps as it is up one floor. We had no problems though. And there is a grocer just down the street, very conveniently.

  • Gabor from Austria – 16 September 2022 (9/10)

Excellent locations for visitors of the Biennale. Interesting view along the street and the canal below. Comfortable bed and bath.

What could be improved: Some kitchen utensils outdated or missing.
