“Ea casa de mì”, l’incanto di vivere Venezia Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to “Ea casa de mì”, l’incanto di vivere Venezia in the Dorsoduro district, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical tourist trap. The name itself — \”this is my home\” in Venetian dialect — tells you everything about the philosophy here. It’s tucked away on a quiet fondamenta, and honestly, I almost walked past it the first time because it blends so naturally into the neighborhood fabric. This three-star property feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place than a commercial hotel.

The Dorsoduro Advantage

You know what’s brilliant about this location? You’re in Venice but away from the madness of San Marco. Dorsoduro has this authentic, lived-in feel — you’ll see actual Venetians going about their daily business, kids playing in the campos, and locals chatting outside the neighborhood osterie. The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is practically around the corner, and you can reach the Accademia Bridge in about five minutes on foot. I mean, couples absolutely love this area (the ratings back this up), and I get why — it’s romantic without being overly touristy.

The Space Itself

Each room here feels thoughtfully designed rather than cookie-cutter corporate. The interiors blend contemporary comfort with subtle Venetian touches — think exposed beams, terrazzo floors, and carefully chosen local artwork. What struck me most was the attention to detail; someone clearly cared about creating spaces where you’d actually want to spend time. The bathrooms are modern and well-equipped, which honestly matters more than you’d think when you’re dealing with Venice’s quirky old buildings.

Living Like a Local

The staff here gets it — they’re not just checking you in and disappearing. They’ll point you toward the best bacaro for cicchetti (skip the touristy ones near Rialto), or suggest which vaporetto routes actually make sense depending on where you’re headed. There’s no formal restaurant on-site, but that’s actually perfect because Dorsoduro has some incredible neighborhood spots. The morning setup includes quality coffee and pastries — nothing fancy, but it’s fresh and gets you started right.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.7 rating isn’t an accident. This place delivers on the promise of actually living Venice rather than just visiting it. You’re staying in a real neighborhood where people hang their laundry between buildings and the local baker knows everyone’s name. The combination of authentic location, thoughtful hospitality, and genuine character creates something special — it’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a secret. Plus, let’s be honest, finding quality accommodation in Venice that doesn’t break the bank or feel like a tourist factory is getting harder every year.

Everything about this property was amazing! Home away from home. It was clean, well presented (lovely historic feel), everything you need and in an excellent location. Patrizia was wonderful, she replied back almost straight away with information. As a family of 4 with teens, we stayed two nights and wished we stayed more. Highly recommend this beautiful home.

  • Shanti from Australia – 20 September 2024 (10/10)

Patrizia was a fantastic hostess nothing was too much trouble from restaurant recommendations, clear directions to the apartment & letting us check in early. The attention to small detail in the apartment was much appreciated eg sewing & first aid kit, access to Netflix, clothes airer even pegs! Location was central to all key attractions.

    What could be improved: Nothing!

  • David from United States – 8 November 2023 (10/10)

Cozy, clean, conveniently located, and Patrizia is a dream to work with.

What could be improved: There was construction going on in a nearby apartment that began at 7 am. However, Patrizia had let us know in advance and it proved not to be much of an issue. It is nearly completed.

  • Sylvia from Belgium – 23 July 2023 (10/10)

I like : the cleanness of the property, the wifi, the location and the air conditioning.

What could be improved: The ants and and the noise from the next door neighbor who was repairing his house.

  • Andrei from Romania – 10 May 2023 (10/10)

Excellent location and the host (Linda) was very kind and gave us a lot of guidance.

What could be improved: During the night is a bit dark in the rooms because there is no direct light to the windows, from outside.
