Honeymoon suite on Grand Canal Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow Venetian streets to reach Honeymoon suite on Grand Canal feels like following a treasure map — you’re weaving through San Marco’s maze of bridges and alleyways until suddenly, there it is. The entrance might be understated, but honestly, that’s part of the charm in Venice. What hits you immediately is the location — I mean, you’re literally in the heart of everything that matters in this city. The three-star rating doesn’t tell the whole story here; sometimes it’s all about where you are, not how many amenities you can count.

The Grand Canal Magic

Here’s what you need to know about staying right on the Grand Canal — the views are absolutely everything. You wake up to water taxis puttering by and gondoliers calling out to tourists, which sounds touristy but actually becomes this lovely soundtrack to your mornings. The suite itself embraces that romantic Venice vibe without going overboard with the theme (thank goodness, because some places really lean into the honeymoon angle a bit too hard). The windows frame the canal perfectly, and you’ll find yourself just standing there watching the city wake up with an espresso in hand.

Location Perfection

The San Marco address puts you within walking distance of basically everything you came to Venice to see. St. Mark’s Square is practically around the corner — you can pop over for morning coffee before the crowds arrive, then retreat back to your quiet canal-side spot. What couples particularly love (and the 9.4 location rating from pairs proves this) is how you can disappear into romantic little restaurants and wine bars, then stumble home along the waterfront. You’re close enough to the action but tucked away enough to feel like you’ve found your own little Venice hideaway.

The Neighborhood Experience

San Marco 3378 sits in what locals still consider the real Venice — not some tourist-only zone, but where you’ll see Venetians heading to work in the morning and kids playing in the campos. The nearby streets hide some genuinely good bacari (those little wine bars Venice does so well), and you’ll quickly figure out which bridge gives you the best canal views for your evening aperitivo. There’s something about staying in this particular pocket of San Marco that makes you feel less like a visitor and more like you’re borrowing someone’s Venetian life for a few days.

Why Guests Love It

What really works about this place is the combination of that unbeatable location with the intimate, romantic atmosphere that Venice does better than anywhere else. The 7.9 rating reflects guests who get it — they’re not looking for a resort experience, they want authentic Venice with a front-row seat to the Grand Canal. You’re paying for the location and the experience, and honestly, when you’re sipping wine while watching the sunset paint the canal golden, you’ll understand why couples keep coming back. It’s not about thread counts or marble bathrooms; it’s about waking up in one of the world’s most romantic cities with the best possible view.

Reviews of Honeymoon suite on Grand Canal

  • Vindhya from India – 27 September 2024 (8/10)

Loved the view from the patio and the entrance to the suite, it felt serene and a bit secluded.

The host was helpful and very easily reachable.

What could be improved: The locking system was not easy, our room door did not lock entirely, but the door before that did. However there were 3 different sets of keys to open, each time we entered, which took too much time.

  • James from United States – 10 September 2024 (8/10)

The personal dock right on the Grand Canal is an amazing feature and makes for a lovely place to enjoy your morning coffee.

  • Graham from United Kingdom – 29 August 2024 (8/10)

Magnificent location and setting on the grand canal

What could be improved: As Venice was so hot the air conditioning could have been better and could benefit from having a safe in the room.

  • James from Iran – 8 August 2024 (9/10)

The location is excellent. There are many shops and restaurants within a few minutes walk from the location. There's a dock right at the property for pickups and drop-offs, which was convenient for our early 8 AM flight.

The staff was in constant contact with me before check-in, making me feel comfortable about finding the place. They provided detailed instructions on which boat taxi line to take, the correct stop to get off at, and then met us to walk us to the property. The owner is a very sweet lady that lives upstairs. She let us borrow her scale when we lost our luggage scale before our flight home.

The room is on the smaller side but comfortable for my wife and me. There is an older AC unit in the room, which was fantastic during our stay when the temperatures were in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Be sure to check the exhaust port on the back of the unit; it had some cracks and holes. While it was blowing cold air, the exhaust pipe was pumping hot air back into the room. We managed to secure the exhaust hose somewhat, which made it less of an issue.

The real gem of this place is the dock right on the Grand Canal. The two windows in the room overlook the canal, providing a beautiful view. Right outside the room is a common area with a coffee machine and a small fridge. This room leads outside to your private dock with seating and a table on the canal. Sitting out there at sunset, enjoying some prosecco, was a great way to end each day, watching all the boats go by on the canal. Make sure to buy some bug spray; there are mosquitoes. While other reviews mentioned mosquitoes in the room, we did not have any issues, but we kept our windows closed the entire time. So, buy some bug spray and keep your windows closed, and it shouldn't be a problem.

FYI – Venice is a maze. Use apple/google maps for walking directions everywhere. It will save you a lot of time.

What could be improved: The wifi was very hit and miss, mostly miss during the entire stay. I let the owner know about this and hopefully gets worked on. Luckily we had ok cell service and was able to just look things up on our phone.

  • Stewart from Australia – 4 August 2024 (8/10)

The location on the canal and the outdoor seating area directly on the Grand Canal. Nothing better that we saw.
If you are after an authentic Venetian experience staying in an apartment on the water then this is for you.
Takes a bit of finding but very unique place. The host sent someone to meet us at the water bus stop so that really helped us otherwise would have taken a bit of finding.

What could be improved: With our luggage it was cramped space wise. Would suit a weekend traveler not a 5 week trip itinerary.
Aircon died one night and it was unbearable. The host got it fixed next day.
We knew it would be a bit different so we went with the flow.

  • Jaap from Netherlands – 21 July 2024 (8/10)

    • Exceptional Service: Karen was exceptionally nice and made sure everything was taken care of. Her hospitality truly stood out.
    • Prime Location: The suite’s location on the main canal is a one-in-a-million gem. We spent every morning and evening watching boats and gondolas floating by, which was absolutely fabulous.
    • Comfort and Ambiance: The suite offered a comfortable and romantic ambiance, perfect for a honeymoon.
    • Attention to Detail: Despite initial doubts due to the limited pictures and reviews, the property exceeded expectations with its attention to detail and overall quality.

I am quite particular when it comes to choosing accommodations and can spend days finding the right location. At first, the honeymoon suite in Venice seemed like a bit of a gamble due to the limited pictures and reviews. However, this turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made.

Karen’s exceptional hospitality made our stay incredibly comfortable and enjoyable. She ensured everything was taken care of, allowing us to relax and enjoy our time in Venice. The suite’s porch on the main canal provided an unforgettable experience. Watching boats and gondolas floating by every morning and evening was a highlight of our trip.

Although the entrance was initially difficult to find, the staff’s excellent assistance quickly resolved this issue. The two days we spent here were definitely too short, and I am already planning to return to Venice. Without a doubt, I would not consider staying anywhere else. This honeymoon suite is a true gem, offering a unique and magical experience that exceeded all my expectations.

What could be improved: Like a hidden gem.. The entrance was a bit hidden as well. The staff helped me excellent, and waited for me to arrive and guide us to the property.

  • Robert from United States – 25 June 2024 (9/10)

Great location in a more residential area. Right on the canal so you wake up with the water and boats almost at water level. Water bus a short walk. Good WiFi allowing us to work with Zoom and email.

What could be improved: AC was a portable unit that cooled the room quite well, but could have been quieter.

  • Luxmore from United States – 1 May 2024 (9/10)

This beautiful Venezian building is at the perfect location with an incredible view. You can sit and enjoy being ON the Grand Canal from the dock or your room. There is plenty of space on the main floor to use and it's still very private.

What could be improved: Arriving was a bit challenging because the address is difficult to find. The bathroom does have a slight odor as well.

  • Kevin from Singapore – 27 October 2023 (8/10)

    The balcony

What could be improved: The garden light is not working

  • Maria from Indonesia – 18 September 2023 (8/10)

We loved the location and the balcony on the Grand Canal.

What could be improved: There were few issues….but Karin the owner was amazing and all got sorted quickly.
