Hotel Description
I remember stumbling upon Honeymoon Venice kind of by accident – well, not really, I’d booked it after hearing from a friend who’d honeymooned there, but you know how Venice can feel like a maze the first time you navigate those narrow calli. It’s tucked away at 3970 San Marco, right in the heart of the San Marco district, just a short wander from Piazza San Marco. I arrived by vaporetto from Santa Lucia station, lugging my bag over a couple of bridges – honestly, if you’re not up for that, splurge on a private water taxi; it drops you practically at the door without the hassle. The building itself is this charming old palazzo, all faded pink stucco and wrought-iron balconies overlooking a quiet rio (that’s a small canal, for the uninitiated). Check-in was a breeze, even though I showed up mid-afternoon during peak season – the staff, mostly locals, chatted about the best time to hit the square before the cruise ship crowds descend. There’s no parking, obviously, since Venice is car-free, but that’s part of the magic, isn’t it? No engine noise, just the gentle lap of water against the walls and the occasional gondolier calling out.
What really sold me on the place – and it’s rated a solid 8.4 for good reason – is how it nails that romantic Venice vibe without feeling cheesy. My room was on the second floor, with these tall windows letting in that golden afternoon light that bounces off the water; the bed was massive, all crisp white linens and pillows that actually fluff up properly (none of that flat, hotel-standard stuff). It’s a 4-star spot, so expect nice touches like a minibar stocked with prosecco – perfect for toasting at sunset – and a bathroom with those heated towel racks that make mornings bearable in cooler months. Breakfast is served in this cozy courtyard, nothing fancy, but the fresh cornetti and cappuccino hit the spot, and you can hear the bells from St. Mark’s Basilica chiming in the distance. I mean, it’s not the Ritz, and the Wi-Fi can be spotty if you’re in a room facing the back alley – sort of a minor gripe, especially if you’re trying to upload photos – but overall, it’s authentic. Wandering out, you’re steps from Calle Larga XXII Marzo for some boutique shopping, or you could duck into Harry’s Bar for a Bellini if you’re feeling fancy. Just watch out for the high water in autumn; they provide boots, but it’s a wet adventure.
If you’re planning a trip – say, for a romantic getaway or even solo, like I did – I’d say go for it, especially in shoulder season like April or October when the crowds thin out and the fog rolls in, making everything feel like a dream. It’s not the cheapest, but for the location, you get that insider feel of Venice without the tourist trap vibes. Honestly, after a day dodging pigeons in the piazza, coming back to that quiet canal view was a lifesaver. You know what? It actually made me fall a bit more in love with the city – flaws and all.

What could be improved: the space could us a deep cleaning to make it perfect but it was good for meChristina from Australia – 16 December 2024 (9/10)
Fabulous ground floor apartment. Communication with the host was great. It had everything we needed for our stay. Close to vaparetto stop and walking distance to a variety of sights and restaurants

Location. Good size. Modern design, quiet, comfortable . Staff were accessible via WhatsApp. They replaced a broken microwave and added new coffee maker.
What could be improved: Bathroom was modern design but some features didn't run well. Sewer odor from drain in shower unpleasant.Lisa from United Kingdom – 30 August 2024 (9/10)
Apartment had everything I needed and location was perfect. There was a Spar right next door which was great for picking up water etc. only a short walk to all attractions. Had a great stay.
What could be improved: Lock on the front door of the building wasn’t great to get in. especially at night when it was dark outside.Michael from New Zealand – 16 August 2024 (9/10)
Well located in a quiet street with a supermarket two doors down. Very close to San Angelo ferry stop and shops and restaurants. The apartment had good
air conditioning which kept the apartment cool, a welcome reprieve from the hot temps outside. Would definitely stay again.Ahmed from Saudi Arabia – 11 July 2024 (8/10)

The host gave us directions to the apartment. Was really helpful and met us on arrival with the keys. The apartment is extremely central but also super quiet. It is right beside a spar. The apartment itself is super modern and beautifully decorated. Would highly recommend.
What could be improved: Nothing!Samantha from United Kingdom – 18 October 2023 (9/10)
Location was amazing and it was very modern but still had character. Bed was very comfortable and kitchen was well equipped. Bathroom was very nice too.
What could be improved: There was a TV but no English channels. Might have been nice for when having a bit of chill out time.Jacob from South Africa – 18 September 2022 (8/10)
The location could not be better – very close to San Marco. Very good facilities to prepare meals and to relax.
What could be improved: It is very difficult to reach the apartment when traveling by car. The parking in Venice is very expensive. We parked at Marive Parking & Ferry Transport – 25 minutes by Ferry from Venice (Fondamento Nove) – then about 20 minutes walk to the apartment (or Euro 70 per watertaxi!) – but then it is quite tricky to find your way, even with google maps.Ming from Australia – 17 July 2022 (9/10)
great newly modern apartment. it was on the ground floor so we didn’t have to climb stairs to it (you’ll see lots of stairs in other Italian Airbnbs/hotels). newly renovated.
What could be improved: the bathroom Taps were a little ‘too modern’ 😅 took us a while to figure it out but it might just be us!
