Hotel Bridge Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow calle della sacrestia to reach Hotel Bridge, you get that authentic Venice feeling right away — you know, the one where you’re genuinely lost in a maze of ancient stone passages. This three-star property sits tucked away in the Castello district, and honestly, the location is what immediately grabbed me. You’re literally steps from St. Mark’s Square, but far enough from the main tourist crush that you can actually breathe. The hotel’s position on Campo SS. Filippo e Giacomo offers the perfect balance between accessibility and tranquility.
The Heart of Venice
What I love about this spot is how it puts you right in the thick of things without the chaos. Venice can be overwhelming, but staying here means you can duck back to your room when the crowds get too much, then venture out again when the mood strikes. The Campo SS. Filippo e Giacomo is this charming little square that locals actually use — I watched kids playing football there while their parents chatted over morning coffee. It’s that kind of authentic neighborhood feel that’s getting harder to find in Venice these days. This genuine local atmosphere sets the hotel apart from more commercialized alternatives.
The Accommodation
The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid three-star in Venice — nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable with that slightly old-world charm that comes with the territory. I mean, you’re staying in a centuries-old building, so don’t expect ultra-modern everything. The beds are decent, and the bathrooms work well enough. What really matters here is stepping outside your door and being surrounded by genuine Venetian atmosphere rather than tourist traps. Each room reflects the character of its historic surroundings.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast is a mix of continental and Italian options — think fresh pastries, good coffee (thank goodness), and some local touches that make it feel less generic than what you get at chain hotels. The Italian breakfast approach grows on you actually, especially when you realize you can grab a proper lunch later at one of the nearby bacari. There’s something nice about starting your day simply, then heading out to explore rather than getting weighed down by a massive buffet. The morning meal sets a pleasant tone for discovering the surrounding neighborhood.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing — couples absolutely rave about this place, and I can see why. Venice is romantic enough on its own, but staying somewhere that feels like a local secret rather than a tourist factory makes all the difference. You can wander to St. Mark’s in about five minutes when you want the grand spectacle, then retreat to quieter streets when you need a break. The 8.3 rating makes sense because it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, which in a city full of overpriced disappointments, feels refreshingly honest.
Best hotels in Venice blend frescoed salons, marble hammams, and rooftop altanas for prosecco sunsets.

Reviews of Hotel Bridge
Tegan from Australia – 30 October 2024 (9/10)
The location was fantastic, just behind San Marco so very close to all the attractions in St Mark’s Square but just a few streets back so quiet. It’s very easily accessible from the train station through a close vaporetto stop. It is filled with character and very historic, so a magical atmosphere. All the staff were warm and welcoming. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe here.
What could be improved: This isn’t a complaint by any means, but just a heads up for future travellers that as this hotel is in an older building, there are no lifts/elevators so be prepared to haul your luggage up at least one, if not two, flights of stairs. I knew this before I booked the hotel so it wasn’t a surprise, but just keep it in mind if you have large or heavy bags!Louise from United Kingdom – 4 October 2024 (9/10)
Amazing location, incredibly friendly staff.
Kerber from United Arab Emirates – 16 September 2024 (8/10)
Location was perfect for accessing most of Venice with ease. Easy to find and get to when arriving and departing. Staff were really lovely and helpful.
There is a simple breakfast, however we did not go for the option.
Rooms are simple but clean. So don't expect any additional mini bars or luxury items.
Bonus was also location to a laundry facility. After 5 days or travel, clean clothes were welcome! There was an Oseteria next to the facility so we had an amazing dinner while we did laundry. There was an amazing Oseteria next to the hotel as well.
A reminder that these kinds of properties don't always provide toiletries or a mini bar.
What could be improved: One thing to consider for those with ambulatory challenges are the stairs. A full set. No elevators at the property.Jenny from United Kingdom – 3 August 2024 (8/10)

Very cosy and beautiful room with all necessary amenities. The host was very welcoming and she guided us with all our queries related to Venice. One of the best experiences. The property is very close to the Doge's Palace and Ferry stations which made it very easy for us to commute to tourist attractions and railway station.
What could be improved: NADayne from United States – 20 May 2024 (8/10)
Comfy bed, clean, good location, 24 hour reception
What could be improved: Expensive for a teeny room with a shared bathroom, but I guess that come with the territoryShinhye from South Korea – 6 May 2024 (9/10)
Very good location and kind staff
What could be improved: I wish there were more shelves or hangers in the bathroom and shower booth so that I can hang my tower and clothes before/after a shower, and put my toiletries.Chitrabhanu from Germany – 23 April 2024 (9/10)
The location of the property was perfect to access most of the interesting sights in Venice. The staff in the hotel was very kind and friendly, deserves a 5-star rating!

great location and staff, very clean room and towels
they offered me a free upgrade but i kindly declined since there is no elevator and the stairs to the 2nd floor were too long
What could be improved: – the room and bathroom are very small, but it’s not a big issue since i was out all day long
– the AC is not working in my room
