Laguna724 Overview
First Impressions
Walking down Calle del Prete Zoto in the Castello district, you’ll find Laguna724 tucked away in what honestly feels like one of Venice’s best-kept secrets. This three-star property sits in an area that locals actually live in — you know, where you’ll see Venetians hanging laundry and chatting with neighbors rather than just endless streams of tourists. The building itself has that understated Venetian charm without trying too hard, and I mean that in the best way possible.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about Castello — it’s got this perfect balance of being authentically Venetian while still putting you within easy reach of the main sights. From Laguna724, you can actually walk to St. Mark’s Square in about ten minutes, but the neighborhood itself feels refreshingly real. There are local bakeries where you’ll queue behind actual residents, small campos where kids play football, and honestly some of the best cicchetti bars that most tourists never discover. Couples seem to get this particularly well (they’ve rated the location 9.1), probably because there’s something romantic about wandering these quieter streets together.
The Experience
What strikes me about this place is how it manages to feel both welcoming and unpretentious. The staff genuinely seem to know Venice — not just the obvious tourist stuff, but where to find the good coffee at 7am or which vaporetto stop is less crowded during rush hour. The rooms are comfortable without being flashy, which actually works perfectly in Venice where you’re spending most of your time exploring anyway. There’s a sense that they’ve focused on getting the essentials right rather than loading up on unnecessary frills.
Getting Around
The vaporetto connections from this part of Castello are actually brilliant once you figure them out. You’re close enough to multiple stops that you’ve got options, and honestly, sometimes walking is faster anyway — Venice works like that. I love that you can slip out in the early morning and have the bridges almost to yourself, then be at the Rialto Market while it’s still buzzing with vendors setting up. The evening walks back through these streets are something else entirely, especially when the day-trippers have headed back to the mainland.
Why Guests Love It
People keep coming back to Laguna724 because it gets the Venice experience right — it’s not trying to recreate some fantasy version of the city, but rather gives you a genuine base to explore from. The location score of 9.3 tells the story pretty clearly, but what that number doesn’t capture is how this spot lets you live like a temporary Venetian rather than just visit as a tourist. You’ll find yourself developing little routines — morning coffee at the corner bar, evening aperitivo at that place around the corner — and that’s when Venice really starts to work its magic on you.

The apartments are located in a quiet district near the city park. Great breakfast with a large selection of products, you can eat both a typical Italian breakfast and a more continental one.

The room is very large. Everywhere is very clean. breakfast is delicious.
What could be improved: Location is a bit away from center by walking but Boat stop is very close. You can consider buying a daily pass if you want to visit centerRoei from United States – 29 March 2025 (9/10)
Everything!
What could be improved: Nothing!Martin from Switzerland – 17 March 2025 (9/10)
We liked the location that was not far from the water bus. Also it was easy to find and well lit. We were provided with good instructions, and we really enjoyed the size of the room.
What could be improved: The breakfast could have been earlier as there is a water bus at 8:12 going to the station. Apart from that it was perfect. I can recommend LuganaDmytro from Austria – 6 February 2025 (9/10)
Nice quiet location near a Vaporetto station. Super clean and comfortable. Good breakfast, very pleasant owner. Strongly recommend!

The property was lovely, really well presented and Christina was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely. I was visiting primarily for the Biennale which was 5 mins away but it was very easy to visit all the other Venice attractions. There were plenty bars and restaurants in the local area.

Christina was an excellent host and provided a great breakfast spread. The accomodation was well situated in a quiet area to either walk to St Marks Square (20 mins), take a public water taxi (4 mins) or dine/eat around the block

Good location: quiet but very convenient to travel to other attractions.
What could be improved: Nothing I don’t like.Sarah from Netherlands – 2 August 2024 (9/10)
Lovely residential area right next to the water bus stop which made it a great location for reaching the centre of Venice. The room was clean and well equipped and was comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The owner was really friendly and welcoming!
What could be improved: The only problem we had was with the air conditioning in our room not being strong enough, it was very hot when we visited! But otherwise the property is wonderful!Cyrille from Netherlands – 30 May 2023 (9/10)
The room was very spacious and everything was just like on the pictures. The bathroom was large et everything was very clean. The location is very quiet in a nice neighborhood with many locals.
The breakfast was fantastic with a great variety including boiled eggs, ham and cheese as well as numerous wonderful Italian pastries.
I would recommend the Vaporetto abonnement.
Finally, special thanks to the very kind staff.
