Le Due Corone Bed & Breakfast Overview

First Impressions

Walking down Calle dei Baloni in San Marco, you’ll almost miss Le Due Corone Bed & Breakfast — and that’s exactly what makes it special. This three-star gem sits tucked away on a quiet side street, but don’t let the understated entrance fool you. Once you step inside, you realize you’ve found something authentic in a city that can feel overwhelmed by tourism. The building itself has that weathered Venetian charm, and honestly, the location score of 9.8 makes perfect sense once you start exploring the neighborhood.

Location & Neighborhood

I mean, you really can’t get more central than this in Venice. From Le Due Corone, St. Mark’s Square is literally a few minutes’ walk — close enough that you can pop back to drop off shopping bags or grab a quick rest between sightseeing. But here’s what I love about Calle dei Baloni: it’s just off the main tourist thoroughfares, so you get that peaceful feeling when you return in the evening. The couples who rated the location 9.7 for romantic trips definitely know what they’re talking about. You’re surrounded by authentic bacari (those little wine bars locals actually frequent) and family-run shops that have been here for generations.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had that classic Venetian feel — not overly fancy, but comfortable and clean with those charming touches you’d expect from a well-run B&B. The windows opened onto the narrow street below, and you know what? I actually enjoyed the occasional sound of footsteps on the stones — it felt like being part of the city’s rhythm. The beds are comfortable enough, and the bathrooms are compact but functional (which is pretty standard for Venice, honestly). What impressed me most was how well-maintained everything felt, especially for a three-star property in such a prime location.

Breakfast & Morning Routine

The continental and Italian breakfast spread is served in a cozy common area that feels more like someone’s dining room than a hotel breakfast space. Nothing too elaborate — fresh pastries, good coffee, local jams, and the usual Italian breakfast staples. But the quality is solid, and the staff actually takes time to chat with guests about their plans for the day. I got some great recommendations for lesser-known spots around Castello and Dorsoduro that I never would have discovered otherwise. It’s that personal touch that makes staying at a B&B worthwhile.

Why Guests Love It

Look, Le Due Corone isn’t trying to be something it’s not — it’s a straightforward, well-located B&B that delivers on the basics while giving you that authentic Venetian experience. The 8.6 rating reflects exactly what you get: solid accommodations in an unbeatable location without the premium price tag of the big hotels near the Piazza. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about staying on these quiet side streets while still being steps away from all the major sights. You’re paying for location and authenticity here, and honestly, in Venice, that’s often more valuable than fancy amenities.

We had a fantastic stay at Due Corone B&B, and I can’t recommend it enough! Starting right from the moment when we booked the acommodation, Michele, the host, went above and beyond to make us feel at home. He shared tips and tricks for exploring Venice, helping us get the most out of our visit. Whether it was the best hidden spots or how to navigate the crowds, his advice was invaluable.

The highlight of the stay was the 24/7 availability of breakfast – it was so convenient, especially when you have early mornings or late nights out in Venice. The room itself was impeccably clean and surprisingly cozy, which made it perfect for a February getaway. Warm and inviting, it was a true retreat after a day of exploring the city.

If you're looking for a place that feels like home, Due Corone is the spot. Michele’s hospitality truly made our stay unforgettable.
    Grazie mille, Michele💜

Great location close to great food and attractions. The staff were so helpful and super accomodating when our air conditioning wasn't working. They happily and swiftly got us moved to another room. We loved that they had a fully stocked kitchen with foods and snacks for breakfast that we had access to when we needed

  • Rafael from Ireland – 17 August 2024 (9/10)

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a great location, very easy to find and we had a beautiful continental breakfast every morning. The host Michele was very helpful and welcoming from the moment we booked until we left and helped us with transport recommendations along with sights to explore in Venice. This was a great help. The air con and the room fan were very good in the hot weather. Loved the shower also.

What could be improved: The only slight negative point was regarding the bed, it was very squeaky and made a lot of noise when turning over and maybe it could so with a new head board. The mattress was comfortable

Located just off the main square – Piazza San Marco – in Venice, you are off to a perfect start when you stay here. Very clean room with en-suite bathroom that is cleaned daily. You have access to a well-stocked pantry allowing you to prepare your own meals whenever you get hungry or thirsty. The owner is very communicative, always ready with tips, tricks and all sorts of information.
