Mimi’s studios Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow Venetian streets to find Mimi’s studios, you honestly wouldn’t expect much from the modest entrance. But here’s the thing about Venice — some of the best places hide behind unassuming doors, and this three-star property is exactly that kind of pleasant surprise. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of calm that’s hard to find in the busier parts of the city. It’s not trying to be fancy, but everything feels thoughtfully put together in a way that just works.
Location Magic
I mean, let’s talk about where this place actually sits — Dorsoduro is honestly one of Venice’s best-kept secrets for travelers who want to feel like locals. You’re tucked away from the tourist madness near San Marco, but still close enough to walk there in about fifteen minutes. What I love is that you can step out and immediately find yourself among art galleries, authentic bacari (those little wine bars locals actually frequent), and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection is practically around the corner. The couples who stay here get it — there’s something romantic about wandering these quieter canals without dodging cruise ship crowds every five minutes.
The Studios
Each apartment here feels more like staying in a Venetian friend’s place than a typical hotel room. The studios aren’t huge — this is Venice, after all — but they’re cleverly designed with everything you actually need. The kitchenette is small but functional, which is perfect when you want to grab fresh ingredients from the Rialto market and make a simple breakfast. I actually found myself using it more than I expected, especially for that essential morning coffee ritual. The beds are comfortable, and honestly, the Wi-Fi works better than in some of the pricier places I’ve stayed in the city.
Neighborhood Life
What really sets this place apart is how it drops you right into authentic Venetian life. In the morning, you’ll hear locals chatting as they head to work, and in the evening, the nearby Campo Santa Margherita comes alive with university students and residents grabbing aperitivos. There’s this little restaurant about two minutes away that serves the kind of seafood risotto that makes you understand why Venetians are so particular about their food. You know what’s also nice? You can actually find parking at Piazzale Roma and walk here without getting completely lost — though getting a little lost in Dorsoduro isn’t exactly a hardship.
Why Guests Love It
The thing about Mimi’s studios is that it gets the balance right between comfort and authenticity. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or concierge services you don’t need, but you are getting a genuinely good location and a place that feels like home base for exploring Venice properly. The fact that couples consistently rave about the location tells you everything — when you’re trying to create memories in one of the world’s most romantic cities, being in the right neighborhood matters more than thread count. It’s the kind of place you’d actually recommend to friends, which honestly says everything you need to know.

I spent five fantastic days in Mimi's studio. The flat is not only beautiful and comfortable, but also super cosy. And best of all, it's absolutely quiet! It's also super central and close to the city's sights.
Pietro was a great host, always helpful and friendly. It was an unforgettable 5 days in Venice!
What could be improved: Everything went really well.Bourdon from France – 19 February 2025 (9/10)
Gamal from France – 31 December 2024 (9/10)
Ute from Germany – 1 November 2024 (9/10)
Bruno from Italy – 15 October 2024 (9/10)
Anne26 from France – 6 October 2024 (9/10)
What could be improved: Appartement un peu sombre les jours de pluie.Lynda from Canada – 26 September 2024 (8/10)
The location was great, just steps off the Grand Canal. The suite was private and quiet. Also close to a grocery store and lots of restaurants.
What could be improved: The suite didn't have a toaster or coffee maker. There was an espresso maker but not what we needed. We were not advised before arrival that the Internet was not connected.Walter from Germany – 16 September 2024 (8/10)
Gute Lage. Gute Ausstattung.
