Palazzo Preziosa – Rialto Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow streets of Cannaregio to reach Palazzo Preziosa – Rialto, you’ll notice this three-star property has something special going for it — the location is honestly incredible. I mean, you’re practically next door to the Rialto Bridge, which sounds touristy until you realize how perfectly positioned you are for everything Venice has to offer. The palazzo itself sits quietly among the residential buildings, and there’s something refreshing about staying where actual Venetians live rather than in the thick of tourist central. This neighborhood charm combined with proximity to major attractions makes it an excellent choice for visitors seeking authentic Venetian experiences.

The Cannaregio Advantage

Here’s what I love about this spot in Venice — Cannaregio gives you that authentic neighborhood feel while keeping you close to the action. You can walk to San Marco in about ten minutes, but when you want to escape the crowds, you just duck back into these quieter canals. The area has some fantastic local bars (bacari, as they call them here) and you’ll actually hear Italian being spoken on the streets. Couples seem to get this — they’ve rated the location 8.2, and honestly, I can see why. The residential character of the district provides a genuine sense of place that many visitors find deeply appealing.

Your Room and Comfort

The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully arranged — you know how Venetian buildings can be quirky with their layouts. What impressed me was how they managed to fit everything you need without making it feel cramped. The windows opened onto a quiet canal, which meant I could actually sleep without earplugs (a minor miracle in Venice). The decor strikes that balance between historic charm and modern comfort — nothing too fancy, but everything works as it should. Each detail has been carefully considered to maximize both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Getting Around and Practicalities

One thing that really matters here is how walkable everything is from Palazzo Preziosa. The Rialto vaporetto stop is literally around the corner, so you can hop on a water bus to anywhere in the city. But honestly, I found myself walking most places because the routes through Cannaregio are so pleasant. There’s a decent restaurant right downstairs if you don’t feel like venturing out, though I’d recommend exploring the neighborhood — some of the best cicchetti bars in Venice are within a five-minute walk. The convenient access to transportation and dining options enhances the overall guest experience significantly.

Why Guests Love It

What sets this place apart is that sweet spot of location, value, and authentic Venetian atmosphere. You’re staying in a real neighborhood but with easy access to all the must-sees. The staff actually knows the area well and can point you toward the good stuff that guidebooks miss. For a three-star property, the location score of 8.6 tells the whole story — sometimes being in the right place matters more than having marble bathrooms or a fancy lobby. This property delivers exactly what guests seek: genuine local experience combined with practical accessibility.

Reviews of Palazzo Preziosa – Rialto

  • Sl_wladimir from Kazakhstan – 9 March 2025 (6/10)

Unfortunately, my experience with this apartment was not great. While there were some positives—like clean bedding, a generally tidy space, a convenient location close to attractions, and good communication with the host—the negatives far outweighed them.

What could be improved: The apartment is quite cramped for three people. It might be okay for a couple, but any more than that feels too tight. The bathroom was a real letdown: outdated, uncomfortably small shower, broken toilet flush, and a door that wouldn’t close properly. The heating system didn’t work well, with radiators ignoring the thermostat settings. On top of that, the gas water heater was unstable, and getting a hot shower required too much fiddling.

I paid €310 for two nights, and honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

  • Diana from Germany – 28 November 2024 (8/10)

The directions for arrival – and the personal attention that the host offered.

What could be improved: I'd prefer a personal massage and a view – but that seems out of the offer.

  • Alvaro from Colombia – 25 October 2024 (8/10)

Location is great, 5 min to vaporetto stop and walking distance to many shops, restaurants and attractions, apartment is comfy with everything you need, host always replied super fast and kind.

What could be improved: Steep stairs to get to the apartment (our was in 3rd floor), not nice with bags and tired after a long trip.

  • Julia from United Kingdom – 26 March 2024 (7/10)

    Great location, well equipped kitchen

  • Lidya from Germany – 5 December 2023 (8/10)

all the rooms and equipment as well as the location are very strategic and easy to explore places to eat and travel

  • C from United Kingdom – 26 November 2023 (7/10)

    Central location. Clean.

What could be improved: Heating did not appear to work.

  • Cesar from Slovenia – 18 October 2023 (8/10)

Pretty apartment in venice, well located and nice host

  • Marly from Australia – 24 August 2023 (7/10)

Was clean and had everything we needed.

  • Pedro from Netherlands – 26 May 2022 (7/10)

Nice and quite neighborhood but still close to main squares and lots of bars and restaurants. Also very close to Fondamente Nove, should you wish to visit Murano or go to the airport by boat.

What could be improved: A minor thing: although all the necessary information was give to you in advance on a pdf, there is no name in the building entrance indicating Pallazzo Rialto, only the door number. Again, a minor detail.

  • Mathieu from France – 26 April 2022 (7/10)

quiet place, enough place for a couple, old authentic flat.

What could be improved: it was a bit cold and we couldn’t put the heater on by our own(as well, we did not contact the manager and I m sure they could help us)
