Hotel Description

Welcome to RABOSO Grand 9-windows, a charming 3-star haven nestled in the historic San Polo district of Venice, Italy. Located at San Polo, 2775 Calle Centani, this well-appointed establishment boasts an impressive 8.0 rating, reflecting its commitment to quality service and guest satisfaction. The RABOSO Grand 9-windows offers an authentic Venetian experience, combining traditional Italian hospitality with modern comforts in one of the city’s most characterful districts. San Polo, the smallest of Venice’s six sestieri (districts), is known for its intimate atmosphere and strategic location at the heart of the city, making it an ideal base for exploring Venice’s celebrated attractions.

Situated along the picturesque Calle Centani, the RABOSO Grand 9-windows puts you within easy walking distance of some of Venice’s most treasured landmarks. The famous Rialto Bridge, with its stunning views of the Grand Canal, is just a short stroll away, as is the bustling Rialto Market where locals shop for fresh produce, seafood, and Venetian specialties. The hotel’s central position in San Polo places guests perfectly for exploring both the major tourist destinations and the more authentic, less-traveled corners of Venice. From here, the magnificent St. Mark’s Square and Basilica are accessible by a scenic 15-minute walk through Venice’s enchanting maze of streets and canals, while the Accademia Gallery and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection are similarly within comfortable reach. The hotel’s name hints at one of its most charming features – nine windows that frame postcard-perfect vignettes of Venetian life, offering glimpses into the city’s unique character and daily rhythms.

The RABOSO Grand 9-windows captures the essence of Venetian elegance while providing all the necessities for a comfortable stay. Its solid 8.0 rating speaks to the consistent quality guests experience, from the attentive service to the well-maintained facilities. Each room is thoughtfully designed to reflect Venetian style, potentially featuring elements like Murano glass accents, traditional textiles, or views of the surrounding historic neighborhood. The hotel likely offers a breakfast service featuring Italian morning staples – imagine starting your day with perfect espresso and freshly baked pastries before setting out to explore the floating city. While maintaining the charm of a historic Venetian building, the RABOSO Grand 9-windows likely balances this with modern amenities travelers expect, creating an environment that feels both authentically Italian and comfortably contemporary. Named after Raboso, a deeply-colored wine grape native to the Veneto region, the hotel perhaps hints at the rich cultural heritage of its surroundings and the deep, immersive experience awaiting guests who choose this well-rated establishment for their Venetian sojourn. Whether you’re visiting Venice for its incomparable art, its unique architecture, its fascinating history, or simply to wander its labyrinthine streets and canals, RABOSO Grand 9-windows in San Polo offers a welcoming retreat in the heart of this extraordinary floating city.

Reviews

  • Jacqui from United Kingdom – 22 December 2023 (8/10)

It was all great – very easy check in and lovely people. Incredible view. Felt like a home from home.

What could be improved: Hot water was a bit hit and miss and a couple of creaky doors need looking at.

  • Brad from United States – 12 August 2022 (8/10)

The location and views were incredible! 7 large windows looking out in the grand canal. Couldn’t ask for a better location. Ernst was awesome to work
with. He ensured everything was ready upon our arrival, answered our questions, and was just great to work with.

What could be improved: No air conditioning. The listing said it had a/c but there wasn’t any – just fans. Of course, it’s a very old and historic building and I’m sure there are restrictions on installing a/c units. The breezes at night helped to cool the house down, but it was so warm inside that it made it hard to enjoy it during the day. My suggestion is to just make sure and state this clearly in the listing if you’re visiting during a hot month (we went in August so definitely warm). The other thing that could be improved is the beds. They were very hard and uncomfortable.

  • Joanne from Singapore – 14 July 2022 (9/10)

a really special location, we never tired of the view. plenty of room for our family of 5, the place was huge. it had everything we needed

What could be improved: beds were quite firm, and an espresso machine would be handy

  • Anna from Hungary – 18 May 2024 (9/10)

Fantastic view, great authentic interiors and very special atmosphere of the palazzo

What could be improved: Very bad pillows. For such price the bedding should be of better quality. One of the bedrooms does not have enough space and hangers to hang clothes . During 5 days of stay there was not a single cleaning

  • Maxwell from Australia – 6 October 2023 (7/10)

The water front windows onto the Grand Canal are wonderful. A large spacious apartment with 2 Queen bed rooms and 1 single bed room and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen is well equiped and has a lovely window out to an inner courtyard garden – very tranquil. Quaint old style furniture and furnishing enhance the very large old windows onto the canal. From the windows you can watch the Gondoliers prepare their lovely boats in the morning and even chat with them. The daily life of the Grand Canal is yours and in stylish old large rooms this is a big old liveable apartment. Very close to San Toma ferry stop and the cafes there and close to 2 small supermarkets – all very handy.

What could be improved: The beds are on the firmer style and can be a little uncomfortable on the hips and shoulders, but some people like that. You are on the Grand Canal so be prepared for the hum of water boats most of the night. Like most accomodations in Venice the initial location of the entry gate can be tricky – but stay in mobile contact with your key hand over / entry person and they will probably meet you at one of the cafes close by.

  • Bec from Australia – 2 January 2025 (8/10)

Wow! Felt like we were staying in our own private museum, palazzo or chateau. So much space, chandeliers in a lot of the rooms and everything was amazing. Close to Rialto, close to anything else we needed. Not disappointed.

What could be improved: Nothing! Just amazing

  • Tony from United Kingdom – 18 June 2023 (8/10)

Absolutely perfect location on San Polo
    good restaurants and minimarket nearby
Rooms to die for and obviously very trusting owners with all the valuables around
wonderful views of Grand Canal and quit at night

    Will visit again

What could be improved: The arrangements to meet the key holder by the Welcome team were tortuous and lengthy.Could be done better with only one contact name and address not 3
However the keyholder was delightful and exactly on time
The instructions for the WIFI need updating and clarifying
    The dishwasher did not work
It would have been nice to have a welcome bottle and coffee/milk available on arrival

  • Jackie from United Kingdom – 5 June 2023 (8/10)

it was very traditional with lots of original features beautiful

    What could be improved: nothing

  • Fibrelight from United Kingdom – 21 June 2024 (5/10)

the only positive for me and my family was the location was great

What could be improved: ok this is my honest opinion
    beds are shockingly uncomfortable
only 1 shower for 5 adults in small bathroom behind kitchen not the main bathroom
shows on pics that there is lovely balcony views onto river but there is big signs up saying do not go onto balcony its unsafe

asked could we stay a little later on check out and was charged £100 even
if could honestly say we would definitely not be staying in somewhere like this again

  • Marcin from Poland – 12 June 2024 (5/10)

    Location

What could be improved: There should be separate beds and there werent. Problem with hot water( low water pressure). Week Wi-fi
