Recreate Studio – Biennale Overview
First Impressions
Walking down the narrow Calle de la Stua in Castello, you might almost miss Recreate Studio – Biennale if you’re not looking carefully. This three-star boutique property feels more like discovering a well-kept secret than checking into a typical Venetian hotel. The entrance is understated in that effortlessly cool way that Venice does so well — no flashy signage, just quality and character that speaks for itself. You know immediately you’ve found something special when the staff greets you like they’re genuinely happy you’re there, not just going through the motions.
Location & Neighborhood
Honestly, the location is pretty much perfect if you want to experience Venice like locals do while still being close to everything that matters. Castello is this wonderful blend of residential authenticity and tourist accessibility — you’ll see neighbors hanging laundry from windows and kids playing in small campos, but you’re also just a pleasant walk from San Marco and the major sights. The area around Recreate Studio – Biennale gets particularly lively during Biennale season (hence the name), when the neighborhood buzzes with art lovers and culture enthusiasts. I mean, couples consistently rate this spot a 9.9 for good reason — it’s romantic without being touristy, if that makes sense.
The Rooms
The studio accommodations here are thoughtfully designed with a modern aesthetic that doesn’t try too hard to scream “Venice.” You’ll find clean lines, quality furnishings, and those little touches that show someone actually cares about your comfort — proper lighting for reading, enough outlets for your devices, and storage that makes sense for travelers. The bathrooms are compact but well-appointed, which is pretty standard for Venice, and the soundproofing is surprisingly good considering you’re in a centuries-old city. What I really appreciated was how the rooms feel like temporary apartments rather than generic hotel boxes.
Exploring the Area
One of the best things about staying here is how easy it becomes to slip into Venetian rhythms. There’s a fantastic bacaro just around the corner where locals actually drink their morning coffee, and the nearby Giardini della Biennale offers a rare patch of green space when you need a break from all the stone and water. You can walk to the Arsenale in about ten minutes, catch a vaporetto to anywhere in the city without fighting crowds, or simply wander the quieter canals that most tourists never discover. The staff actually knows the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward the good osteria that doesn’t have English menus and tell you which bridges offer the best sunset views.
Why Guests Love It
What sets this place apart is how it manages to feel both contemporary and authentically Venetian without any of the theme-park nonsense you sometimes encounter. The 8.9 rating reflects what you experience daily — consistent quality, genuine hospitality, and that rare sense of being in the right place at the right time. It’s the kind of spot where you’ll find yourself planning your next Venice trip before you’ve even checked out, already knowing exactly where you want to stay.
Locals suggest to book apartments in Venice around Cannaregio for artisan glass studios and uncrowded canals.

Reviews of Recreate Studio – Biennale
Irma from Albania – 10 March 2025 (9/10)
Chiara is a fenomenal host!! The Studio Biennale is situated in a quiet area. But yet the location is great, near main attractions, bars, restaurants, supermarkets, vaporetto. We had a fabulous time and of course in the near future we will visit again. I already recommended this Studio to my friends and family.

Ottima posizione, possibile fare tutto a piedi. Molto pulito e pieno di piccoli dettagli per far sentire l’ospite a proprio agio.

What could be improved: Nulla da segnalare!Johanna from Netherlands – 16 September 2024 (8/10)
Ontbijt niet van toepassing.
Locatie: prima voor het bezoek aan de Biënnale en de stad. Moest wel door een donker steegje om
in de bewoonde wereld te komen.
What could be improved: Een hor in het fijn zijn. Nu was het kiezen tussen veel vliegjes binnen laten of de kamer niet luchten..Anastasia from Greece – 10 February 2024 (9/10)
