Here’s the thing about staying in San Marco — you’re essentially living in a postcard. Residenza Ludovica puts you within easy walking distance of St. Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace, and all those iconic spots you’ve seen in movies. But what I really appreciate is that you can actually walk to everything without dealing with water taxis constantly (though you’ll probably want to take a few anyway because, well, it’s Venice). The couples who stay here seem to get it — they’ve rated the location 9.1, and I can see why. You step outside and you’re immediately immersed in the maze of bridges and canals that makes Venice so magical.

The Rooms

The accommodations are exactly what you’d expect from a solid three-star place in this part of Venice — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged to make the most of the space. Venetian buildings aren’t known for their generous room sizes, and this place is no exception, but everything feels well-planned rather than cramped. The rooms have character without being overly themed, which I actually prefer — you get a sense of place without feeling like you’re staying in a museum. The windows offer glimpses of the neighborhood’s daily rhythm, from early morning deliveries to evening strolls.

Getting Around

One of the best parts about the location is how it connects you to the rest of Venice. You’re close enough to the major vaporetto stops that getting to other neighborhoods — whether it’s Dorsoduro for the art scene or Castello for a more local feel — becomes pretty straightforward. The property’s excellent location score of 9.1 really shows when you start exploring; you’ll find yourself using the hotel as a perfect home base. Plus, being in San Marco means you can easily duck back for a rest between morning sightseeing and evening wandering, which honestly makes a huge difference when you’re doing the full Venice experience.

  Appartement très bien situé, propre, lumineux, assez spacieux et confortable pour 2-3 personnes. Salle de bain impeccable. Cuisinette très petite mais fonctionnelle. Vue intéressante sur le quartier de nos fenêtres. À 4 minutes à pied de Place St-Marc.
  Important à noter: aucun ascenceur, 80 marches à monter pour se rendre à l'appartement (4-5 étages)
  
  What could be improved: L'appartement aurait mérité une note supérieure mais il y avait quelques problèmes avec les installations et/ou améliorations possibles. Et à ce prix, on doit s'attendre à mieux à ce sujet: 1) il y avait deux chaises brisées et inutilisables, 2) stores de fenêtre qui tombent, 3) machine à café craquée qui coulait, 4) robinet de cuisine qui ne tient pas debout (réparé après avoir avisé nos hôtes, merci), 4) table de cuisine trop petite et chaises inconfortables, 5) manque une corde à linge ou support pour sécher, 6) matelas en fin de vie

  muy bien situado para moverse en todas direcciones, dispone de nevera y utensilios para comer el el piso , dispone de ducha amplia y el baño muy correcto el sistema de la llave muy bien , te da seguimiento en todo momento via whatsapp , la cama es cómoda y ancha
  
  What could be improved: tiene demasidos muebles y decoración que no sirven, como sillas rotas, consolas , revistas y cosas que lo hacen poco acogedor , tuvimos mucho mosquito toda la noche , cosa que se aprecia habitual , pues todas las paredes están manchadas de "anteriores batallas " entiendo que es venezia con las complicaciones que causa vivir el dia a dia , pero al ser un negocio , tiene que estar todo buen para el cliente . piso con bastante escalera inclinada , sin ascensor .

  die Lage ist toll. Mitten im Geschehen. Alles gut erreichbar. Die antike Einrichtung schön, aber mitgenommen und zum Teil vom Vermieter zu eigener benutzung verschlossen. (Mit Klebeband). Auch die Aussicht war prima und anheimelnd.
  
  What could be improved: Steckdosen kaputt und zu wenige. Lampen z.T. nicht funktionstüchtig, geradezu gefährlich kaputt. Im Küchenbereich gar keine, so dass wir den Kaffeeautomaten auf der Erde hinter der Tür betreiben mussten. Kaum Geschirr, etc. Zum selber Kochen nicht ausgestattet, obwohl man das bei einem Appartment eigentlich erwarten darf. War wohl nicht erwünscht!!
  
  Keine Handtücher für die Küche, zu wenig fürs Bad. Manches also doch sehr lieblos!! Die Verwaltung (also der Vermieter) war unsichtbar, da alles über Telefon und zentral gesteuerte Öffnung der Türen ging. Wohnung war recht schwer zu finden, wenn man mit San Marco 1772 nicht viel anfangen kann.
  Alles in Allem eine wunderschöne Zeit in Venedig, aber die Wohnung bedarf einer weiblichen Hand, die alles ein wenig wohnlicher zurecht macht, damit man sich zu hause fühlt.

  What could be improved: Nagyon lelakott lakás. Koszos és rendetlen. A szék beszakadt, a zuhanyzó koszos, a zuhanyrózsa tartó törött volt, nem lehetett felakasztani. A zuhanyzó sarka penészes. Pókhálók a sarkokban. A falon bogarak szétnyomva. A kárpit foltos, koszos. Az ágy kényelmetlen. A konyha edényei és a hűtő belseje is koszos volt.
