Venice Resorts Guest House Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Venice Resorts Guest House in the Santa Croce district, you immediately get that authentic Venetian vibe — none of the tourist chaos you’ll find near San Marco, but still unmistakably Venice. This three-star property sits right in what locals consider one of the best neighborhoods in the city, and honestly, I can see why couples are giving the location such high marks. The building itself has that weathered charm you expect from a centuries-old city, though don’t expect anything too fancy — it’s more about character than polish.
The Santa Croce Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in Santa Croce — you’re actually living like a Venetian rather than just visiting. The apartment buildings around here house real families, there’s a proper neighborhood feel, and you can walk to the train station in about ten minutes when it’s time to leave. You know what’s really convenient? The vaporetto stops are right there, so getting to the main sights is easy, but when you come home in the evening, you’re away from all the day-tripper madness. I mean, there’s something to be said for being able to grab groceries at the local shops without fighting through crowds of people taking selfies.
Your Room and Space
The room I stayed in was pretty typical for Venice — not huge, but thoughtfully laid out with everything you actually need. The windows opened onto a quiet side street, which was perfect for sleeping (Venice can get surprisingly noisy with all those late-night revelers). What struck me was how clean everything felt, and the bed was genuinely comfortable — sometimes you worry about that in older buildings. There’s basic air conditioning, which you’ll definitely appreciate if you’re visiting in summer, and the bathroom was recently updated without losing that old-world feel.
Getting Around and Exploring
From here, you can walk to the Rialto Market in about fifteen minutes, and it’s maybe twenty to the famous bridge itself. The Piazzale Roma is practically next door, which sounds less romantic than it is — but trust me, having easy access to buses and the mainland is actually pretty smart. I found myself wandering the quiet canals in this area more than anywhere else because there’s space to breathe and really take in the architecture. Plus, there are some genuinely good local spots for cicchetti that most tourists never find because they’re not staying in this part of town.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to be the most luxurious place you’ve ever stayed, but it gets the fundamentals right in a city where location really is everything. The staff knows the neighborhood well and can point you toward the good stuff — which restaurant has the freshest fish, when the market is best, that sort of local knowledge that makes a difference. For the price point, you’re getting authentic Venice without the premium you’d pay closer to the main attractions, and honestly, that trade-off works perfectly for most people. The fact that couples consistently rate the location so highly tells you something — this is the kind of place where you can actually enjoy being in Venice together, not just surviving it.

Reviews of Venice Resorts Guest House
Emily from Panama – 4 March 2025 (8/10)
We were able to walk to it from the train station. Friendly staff and comfortable room.
What could be improved: The only thing would perhaps be the size of the shower. Pretty small and the door didn't keep the water from getting out. But, good hot water!Achillefs from Greece – 28 February 2025 (8/10)
the aerea (in 25-30 min on foot to Rialto and San Marco, 10 min to train station, 5-6 min to bus square, bars and bakerys very close) & size of the room
What could be improved: we need more heating, its lowDavid from United Kingdom – 2 July 2024 (8/10)
Great position, lovely room.
What could be improved: Tea/coffee making would have been good. Fridge ineffective.Alana from Australia – 12 October 2023 (8/10)
Great location to access the city, clean bedroom and bathroom, air conditioning, easy instructions to gain access to the room, close to bus/train. I would stay here again.
What could be improved: Bathroom was roomy and clean, but the shower was small (as can be expected in these old buildings). It was fine to use but I wouldn't recommend for someone with large build.Joseph from Canada – 14 September 2023 (8/10)

On-line check-in, location very central, very clean, very good price, nice canal view
What could be improved: Room/ bathroom was small, but enough for a couple and price was goodEmily from Australia – 11 August 2023 (8/10)
Convenient location to the train station and easy enough to get to different areas of Venice to explore further. Comfortable and clean room, with air-conditioning and wifi, and nice and clear directions and information sent through in advance to help me get there and self check-in. Friendly online communications from staff. Quiet overnight.
What could be improved: A small fridge would have been useful but not essential. The doors and/or key-locks are a bit noisy but this seems pretty common in most places.Brittany from New Zealand – 22 July 2023 (7/10)
Easy check in once you find the property. Cute area near canal and restaurants.
What could be improved: The property is listed with the incorrect address, they send you a google map link in messages which is inconvenient when you arrive at the wrong location after mapping the advertised address. The staircase is steep and skinny. Decor is dated. Hairdryer all smashed up but still went. AC doesn’t work property. Will not stay at a set temperature, you can wake up freezing or really hot. It even stopped completely at one point. You can hear the neighbouring rooms toilets flushing and at night some of the guests having ‘fun’.Farima from France – 28 June 2023 (8/10)
The furniture was old but it was clean enough so that you didnt pay attention to the old furniture.
It had self check in so we didnt see anyone in charge. But the one who answered the booking chat was so kind.
What could be improved: Shower cabin is too small and it has a wall shower in it which makes it smaller! There would be a problem if you are big!Gunars from Latvia – 13 April 2023 (8/10)
Location is perfect – everything near and central. Large and comfy bed. Well equipped bathroom.
What could be improved: Room was above outside restaurant and was quite noisy till 2-3 am. The walls and floor are not horizontal so it feels strange when walking.
