Amor Mio B&B Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow alleyways of Cannaregio to find Amor Mio B&B, you’ll pass locals hanging laundry and small neighborhood cafes that tourists rarely discover. The entrance at Corte Cavallo feels like stepping into someone’s elegant Venetian home — which, honestly, is exactly what this three-star bed and breakfast aims for. There’s something refreshingly intimate about the scale here, especially after seeing all those massive hotel chains trying to squeeze into historic palazzos elsewhere in the city.
Location & Neighborhood
I mean, couples give this location a 9.1 rating for good reason — you’re in Cannaregio, which locals consider one of Venice’s most authentic districts. You can actually walk to the Rialto Bridge without fighting through the worst crowds, and the Jewish Quarter is just around the corner with some incredible bacari (those tiny wine bars Venetians love). What I really appreciate is how you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from San Marco that you won’t hear tour groups at dawn. The vaporetto stops are nearby, but honestly, you’ll find yourself walking everywhere because the neighborhood itself is so charming.
The Rooms
The rooms have that refined Venetian character you’d hope for — think restored period details mixed with modern comfort rather than trying too hard to be trendy. You know what surprised me? The attention to small details like proper reading lights and decent water pressure, things that even some upscale places in Venice somehow mess up. The windows open onto either the quiet courtyard or those narrow canals where you’ll hear water lapping against ancient stones. It’s not huge (this is Venice, after all), but everything feels thoughtfully arranged.
Breakfast Experience
Breakfast here actually feels Italian rather than some generic continental spread — they do proper espresso, fresh cornetti, and local pastries alongside the usual offerings. The buffet includes gluten-free options, which isn’t always easy to find in traditional Venetian establishments. I loved sitting in their breakfast room in the morning, planning the day while locals were already heading to work outside. There’s something about starting your Venice day in a real neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble that just sets the right tone.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.1 overall rating, Amor Mio B&B clearly gets the balance right between authentic Venetian atmosphere and genuine hospitality. The location score of 9.2 tells the whole story — you’re in what’s considered the top-rated area of Venice, but staying somewhere that feels personal rather than corporate. It’s the kind of place where you’ll get recommendations for that perfect osteria three bridges over, or learn which gelato shop the locals actually prefer. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about staying in a real Venetian neighborhood where you can imagine, even briefly, what living in this impossible city might actually feel like.

What could be improved: Everything it was great.Reinhard from Switzerland – 16 November 2024 (10/10)
A wonderful, small B&B in a quiet quarter of Venice, off the beaten tourist tracks. A lovely quarter. The station for the vaporetto from the airport is right next-by (but watch out: if you plan to take the vaporetto back to the airport keep in mind that the vaporetto serving that station is quite small and the Vaporetto comes from Plaza San Marco and might therefore already be full when it arrives at the Orto station – we were lucky, we got the last 2 seats on the vaporetto. If it is busy times you might want to walk a bit further to F.te Nove station and take the bigger vaportetto coming from Lido island). Btw: Orto is also a vaporetto stop where you can go directly to Murano island by boat.
The B&B is small (only 2 or 3 rooms). But rooms are big and nicely renovated. A bit hidden and you you have to go through 2 door codes and a code for the key lock box before you finally arrive in the room, but you receive all instructions for the codes via WhatsApp. The persons running this small B&B are very helpful and are always immediately responding. Nice breakfast, served in a saloon in the private area (only open during the breakfast times).
To get to the first floor where the rooms are you have to get up a long stair, no lift. Not a problem for us but keep that in mind, especially when you have heavy luggage.
Rooms windows of our room were facing a garden, very quiet.
Venice touristic area can be easily reached by foot, but my recommendation is to stroll through the more quiet quarters next to the B&B.
What could be improved: Nothing really. As already mentioned the stairs may be a problem or in case you have heavy luggage.Ei from Australia – 9 November 2024 (10/10)
The accommodation is located close to the ferry ⛴️ and very convenient location for restaurants, plus very quiet area. The room was good sized, bathroom was clean and tidy. Bed was big sized and comfortable. Has 2 windows so I can feel fresh air. Big smart TV provides in the room and comfy chairs included. Breakfast was great and thanks so much for convenient stay.

Amor Mio has everything that you could want, it’s comfortable, exceptionally clean, safe and in a great location. Set in a quiet area of Venice but within 5 minutes of lots of bars and restaurants it’s perfect for those who want to be further away from the crowds and enjoy the tranquility of Venetian canals.

We only stayed for one night. This property is super clean, easy to find, and the staff super helpful. We arrived very late around 2:00am and they were communicating with us at all times and answering all of our questions. Breakfast is small but it had a bit of everything, eggs, turkey, salami, cheese, bread, yogurt, coffee, cakes. Very convenient location.

The proprietress is very kind. When I told her I didn't have time to eat breakfast, she wrapped a croissant and let me bring it.
