I mean, couples rate this spot 9.9 for good reason — there’s something romantic about discovering those little bacari (wine bars) that locals frequent, just a few blocks away from your hotel door.

The room I stayed in had that classic Venetian feel without being overly themed — you know what I mean, not drowning in gold and red velvet like some places try to do. The space felt authentic but comfortable, with enough modern touches that you’re not struggling with ancient plumbing or nonexistent wifi. Actually, the windows opened onto the street life below, which I found oddly soothing — hearing real Venetians going about their day instead of just tourist chatter.

Getting Around and Daily Life

One thing that really struck me was how easy it became to feel like a temporary local here. The nearest vaporetto stop connects you to the main islands without hassle, but honestly, I found myself walking most places because the routes through Cannaregio are just more interesting than the main tourist thoroughfares. There are actual grocery stores nearby (not just souvenir shops), and I discovered this little restaurant around the corner that serves the kind of seafood risotto that makes you understand why people rave about Venetian cuisine.

  It has spirit of venice, really close to p. san marco ( by walking 15 min. ). It was clean, comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: It was cold, heating system didnt work properly. We felt cold, i dont want to stay here in winter. They should fix it. Also inside of home was dark cause of narrow street but i think it is normal for venice.

  Location is excellent, easy to approach from all sides of town. Good restaurants in the neighborhood. Quiet street in the middle of Venice, equal distance from train station and most popular locations. City is beautiful. Accommodation depicts what is like to live in Venice.
  
  What could be improved: Light in the apartment could have been better. There was a small delay in collecting keys, which was resolved quickly. Hosts could not accommodate our request for earlier check in. I understand that check in and check out policies apply for hotels with multiple rooms, however between check out at 10am and check in at 3pm there is more than enough time to clean one apartment and prepare it for next guests.

  We enjoyed our stay here! The apartment was spacious and had pretty much everything needed. The check-in and check-out was smooth and the hosts were able to answer all our questions throughout.
  
  The location was perfect, tucked away from loudness of the main street, bur with great walking access to anywhere in Venice.
  
  As some people mention before, some things are a bit old in the apartment, but in our opinion, it just adds to the charm of the place and creates a nice vintage atmosphere!!
  
  What could be improved: Some socket-plugs had the old entry holes, so certain devices couldn’t be plugged in. However, there were plenty of sockets with new type of entry holes, so that was not a big problem.

  Great location in a quiet area. Super easy to check in and out. Very large place with comfort.
  
  What could be improved: The a/c didn’t work during our stay so it was hot and if we opened the windows we would get bitten by mosquitoes. Other than that it was good

  The location was perfect. Close to the big tourist attractions, yet the street was very quiet. Fonte de Nove vaporetto stop was very close for easy access to all vaporettos to airport, Lido, Murano etc. Building and apartment was beautiful, just like in the pictures. Check in was very smooth.
  
  What could be improved: Air conditioning was a bit confusing, with a don’t touch note, yet some switches were marked “ok”. We were unsure, if it was ok to use the air conditioner or not.

  Ca’ delle Vele is a very spacious 1bedroom apartment in a convenient location. it has a large bedroom and large living room/ eating area, bathroom and kitchen, and is supplied with many useful things, including a little dishwasher. The host was very responsive.
  
  What could be improved: The property has a couple of drawbacks—unless one went to a fair amount of effort to open the windows and shutters, it was pretty dark. With the windows and shutters open, noise came in from the little streets. The other difficulty was in finding it. Phones do not work for mapping in much of Venice’s narrow little alleys, and the host will need to remind renters to print out maps in advance.

  Perfect location for us . Easy to find . Map your route in advance , it was like one turn from the Dock A . We arrived early and were able to stash our luggage in the hallway . It is shared with only one other unit , felt ok for us . There also was a storage business very close , it's some where by the Irish Pub I think . Not brand new modern furniture , but was nice enough , my date said very charming .
  
  What could be improved: Light switches in dark hallway took a minute to find . I think I rang the bell to the other unit feeling around . Lol. Shower / tub was a little difficult changing to bath mode , needs grease , but nice comfy tub she said . . The curtains were sheer , had to open windows and the close the outside shutters to be comfortable for her to have our late night dance parties , not me though , I like showing off . There is a early procedure with setting out the garbage , we sleep in . But we found a can by the Irish Pub and the very little we had , went there , If you have a lot of luggage , it is a bit of a challenge with some bridges to and from the water bus , but that is the nature of Venice , Pack light , then pack lighter . The Apartment is in a great spot , very worth the hassle .
