2960 Cà Frari Venezia Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow streets of San Polo to find 2960 Cà Frari Venezia, you’ll pass locals heading to the Rialto market and tourists clutching maps — then suddenly you’re in this quiet courtyard that feels completely removed from the chaos. The three-star property sits in what I’d honestly call one of the most authentic corners of Venice, where you’re more likely to hear Italian conversations drifting from windows than camera clicks. There’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try to overwhelm you with marble and chandeliers, but instead lets the historic Venetian architecture speak for itself.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re actually in the heart of everything without being trampled by cruise ship crowds every morning. The Frari Church is practically next door — I mean, you can see it from some windows — and the Scuola Grande di San Rocco is a two-minute walk when you want to see some of the most incredible Tintoretto paintings in the city. San Polo has this perfect balance where you’ll find neighborhood bacari (those tiny wine bars locals love) tucked between artisan workshops, and the Rialto Bridge is close enough for morning coffee runs but far enough that you won’t hear tour groups at dawn.

The Rooms

The accommodations here feel authentically Venetian without being stuffy about it. Most rooms have those classic terrazzo floors and wooden beam ceilings that remind you you’re sleeping in a centuries-old building, but the amenities are thoroughly modern — good Wi-Fi, decent air conditioning, and bathrooms that actually have proper water pressure (trust me, that’s not always a given in Venice). Some rooms overlook the courtyard, which is lovely and quiet, while others face the narrow streets where you might catch glimpses of daily Venetian life unfolding.

Getting Around

Here’s where the location really shines — you’re walking distance to both the Rialto and San Tomà vaporetto stops, so getting to St. Mark’s Square or the train station is straightforward. But honestly, you’ll probably find yourself walking everywhere because this neighborhood connects so naturally to the rest of the city. The morning stroll to Rialto market becomes part of your routine, and evening aperitivo in Campo San Polo (one of Venice’s largest squares) feels like you’re living here rather than just visiting.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back to 2960 Cà Frari Venezia is that it strikes this perfect balance between being central and being peaceful. Couples especially seem to fall for the romantic factor — there’s something about having your own quiet corner in Venice while still being steps away from incredible restaurants and historic sites. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out, so they’ll point you toward that hidden osteria where locals actually eat, or tell you the best time to visit the Frari when it’s not packed with tour groups. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’ve discovered a secret, even though you’re right in the middle of one of the world’s most famous cities.

To book a hotel in Venice during Biennale openings, guests juggle Giardini previews with lagoon aperitivo cruises.

Reviews of 2960 Cà Frari Venezia

  • Valéry from France – 13 March 2025 (9/10)

Perfect location while on a vert quiet place, super nice host who welcomed us, very reactive for questions and help if needed

What could be improved: No much to say, shower and toilet a bit short in space but that’s okay despite I’m tall.

  • Shefali from Italy – 18 September 2024 (9/10)

The place was located in the best neighbourhood. Close to the main attractions but still detached from too many tourists. Has lots of cafes and bars around. It was very cozy and comfortable and the host was great

  • Alisa from Finland – 7 August 2024 (8/10)

The location was fabulous for us, tucked away in an area that's not super over run by other tourists. The AC in the bedroom worked really well and was a must during the summer.

What could be improved: The kitchen AC unit didn't work very well. Also would have been handy to have a kitchen towel and a cloth to wipe the table.

  • Vinod from Mauritius – 25 July 2024 (8/10)

Good location for those doing walking tours.

10 to 15 mins walking to the main attractions
    Davide gave us good tips.

2960 Ca Frari apartment was on ground floor so that was great for us.

    WiFi at lighting speed. 300+

    Overall a very pleasant stay.

What could be improved: The shower cubicle tiny. However got very good hot water pressure which is more important.

  • Peter from United Kingdom – 17 July 2024 (9/10)

The location is brilliant with bars, supermarkets, restaurants all close by. The Frari square is easy to reach on foot from station and we were met and welcomed by the friendly host. As a family of 4 the well equipped kitchen was great. Space for us all to chill out in the heat.

  • Alexander from Czech Republic – 25 March 2024 (9/10)

The host, Davide, is very friendly and helpful. Location is excellent. Literally across the road from the Frari, one of Venice's largest and most interesting churches. The San Toma vaporetto stop – from where you can get a boat easily in either direction – is less than 5 minutes' walk away.

What could be improved: I do a lot of cooking! I would have preferred slightly better knives and some kind of blender/mixer. Also a toaster would be great 🙂

  • Julie from Australia – 23 October 2023 (9/10)

Davide met us at the apartment to give us the key and provide information on the venue and locality. We appreciated the pastries provided on a arrival. The apartment is large and well equipped, in a quiet cul de sac, and very close to the San Toma vaporetto stop, with no bridges to cross on the way to it. It is close to a supermarket, good food shops/cafes and the Frari church, and only a short walk to the station. The bed is comfortable, the hot water is plentiful with good pressure. The apartment offers excellent value for money.

What could be improved: The microwave is in a position that makes it difficult to access, there were no tea towels in the kitchen and the position of the toilet and the small size of the shower alcove could present very large people with a challenge. Although there was a large wardrobe in the bedroom, it was full of bedding and there was no drawer space available in the room.

  • Sandra from Lebanon – 9 June 2023 (8/10)

central location just off from the frari church. walking distance to all parts of Venice. ground level apartment. short walk to san Toma stop and 10 mn walk from the train station. local vibe. Davide has kindly put some breakfast pastry and croissant for us and pointed us to some local eateries which was very helpful to have great eating experiences . kids played in the courtyard outside in the morning.

What could be improved: could be better equipped in some things ( iron board, more toilet paper/ tissue for a 5 days’ stay, more mosquito plugs/ vape), moskito nets ect.

  • Bay from United States – 29 May 2023 (8/10)

Comfortable beds. Good location. Fairly quiet. Had kitchen and refrigerator. Spacious.

What could be improved: Shower was too small. You can't bend over. No shelf in the shower to put your stuff on.
No room for your legs when sitting on the toilet. If you are over 6 feet tall, it will not work
No place to hand towels to dry.
    Very dark place.

  • Thuy from Vietnam – 16 June 2022 (9/10)

    everything was perfect

    What could be improved: nothings
