Ca’Rosa Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow streets of Cannaregio to find Ca’Rosa honestly feels like you’re discovering a secret that most tourists never stumble upon. This three-star gem sits tucked away in one of Venice’s most authentic neighborhoods, and I mean that in the best possible way — you’re not fighting crowds of selfie sticks here. The building itself has that weathered Venetian charm you hope for, with those distinctive shutters and the kind of entrance that makes you feel like you’re staying in someone’s carefully restored family home rather than just another hotel.

The Cannaregio Advantage

You know what really struck me about this location? It’s got that perfect balance where you feel like you’re living among actual Venetians, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. The Rialto Bridge is maybe a 10-minute walk, and honestly, that walk through the backstreets is half the fun. There’s this little bakery around the corner that locals actually use — not one of those tourist traps — and in the evenings, you’ll see neighbors chatting in the campo nearby. Couples seem to absolutely love this area (they rate it 9.8, which honestly doesn’t surprise me), probably because it feels romantic without being overly touristy.

Your Room Experience

The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed — and I mean thoughtful in a way that shows someone actually considered how real people use space. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with Venetian humidity all night, and there’s decent storage for your stuff, which matters more than you’d think when you’re living out of a suitcase. The bathroom was clean and functional, though don’t expect a spa experience — this is Venice, where even high-end hotels sometimes have quirky plumbing. What I really appreciated was how quiet it was at night, especially considering you’re still in the heart of the city.

Daily Rhythms

Mornings here have this lovely, unhurried feel that’s hard to find in Venice’s more central areas. You can actually grab coffee at the local bars without elbowing through tour groups, and the staff at Ca’Rosa seem genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions. They’ll point you toward the good cicchetti spots that aren’t in every guidebook, which honestly saved my trip. The whole experience feels more like staying with knowledgeable locals than checking into a standard hotel — there’s something refreshing about that approach.

Why Guests Love It

What really makes this place work is how it delivers exactly what you hope for in Venice without the usual frustrations. You get that authentic neighborhood feeling, you’re close enough to everything important, and you’re not paying premium prices for location alone. The 9.4 rating makes sense when you experience it — it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does really well. If you want to feel like you’ve discovered a corner of Venice that still belongs to the city rather than just the tourism machine, Ca’Rosa delivers on that promise.

Reviews of Ca’Rosa

  • Bowan from United States – 12 March 2025 (10/10)

The hosts were exceptional they were so kind and couldn’t be more helpful and accommodating.

  • Mengyang from China – 12 February 2025 (10/10)

Very quiet and cozy apartment. Great location, good heating, warm-heart hostess. Everything is great.

  • Peter from Australia – 3 February 2025 (9/10)

Clean, close to railway and excellent supermarket.

  • Chun from Hong Kong – 7 January 2025 (9/10)

The mattress was so comfortable, I didn't want to leave! A very clean and tidy room which takes only 10 minutes away from the railway station. Many restaurants and supermarket nearby.

What could be improved: You have to control the temperature of the heater through your host, and you even have to sort and dispose of the garbage before you leave, which is inconvenience especially in rainy day. The bathroom is very small, the number of plugs available for use is very limited, as are the bedside shelves.

  • Nicola from United Kingdom – 28 December 2024 (9/10)

    Great location.
Fantastic hosts – lots of extras and friendly touches – a Christmas welcome plant, chocolates.
Useful extras – shampoo/ conditioner, milk, water, food for breakfast all left in the fridge.
    Great comunication and information.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Gia from Australia – 5 October 2024 (10/10)

Very easy to get to and central in location to most attractions!
Communication from Manuela was perfect! Thankyou for the helpful tips and suggestions when we arrived very late in the evening to the accomodation.

  • Lenore from Australia – 31 July 2024 (9/10)

Venice is always tricky to find properties but this was quite close to the railway station and the host provided videos to assist. Once found it was off the main street so not noisey but extremely close to restaurants, within a minutes walk and the water ferry station,Casino was very close. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The host Manuela was very helpful and very quick to respond and proactive with asking if we needed any help several times, via Whats App.

What could be improved: It was a way from Saint Marcs Square but was in a good neighbourhood and just a ferry ride away if you didn't want to walk

  • Shi-yi from Taiwan – 23 July 2024 (10/10)

This B&B is exquisite, warm and comfortable. It is very convenient on the first floor.
There is no need to carry luggage upstairs.
The owner of the B&B is good at communicating and will respond to any questions immediately.

  • Davide from United Kingdom – 15 July 2024 (10/10)

It s supercentral, close to both the central station and piazza san marco. Pristine conditions and has everything you might need in an accommodation. Last it is very very spacious.

What could be improved: Nothing to mention, i would chose it again without thinking in about twice

  • Victoria from United States – 6 July 2024 (10/10)

Incredible stay in a wonderful city. The hostess is charming and very caring. I travel a lot, but this was the first time I received such detailed video and verbal instructions about the apartment and the city itself. It was immediately clear that the hostess cared about the comfort of our stay in her home. Thank you, Manuela, you are the best!
The apartment is located on the first floor without any stairs. I was traveling with my sister who had a knee replacement, so we appreciated the lack of spiral stairs so popular in some Venetian homes)) We also had a private entrance and we felt like we were living in our own house. The apartment is very clean, with new furniture and mattresses. Manuela left us enough food in the fridge for the first time, so we could have a good snack and rest for a while after the trip. There was also some great coffee! I even got a crash course on how to use the coffee maker:))
The price/quality ratio suited me fine, as the apartment is practically in the city center, a 10-minute walk from the train station. Nearby is a small vegetable market, many cafeterias, restaurants, pizzeria, and currency exchange. In 3 3-minute walk is a supermarket, located in an old building of the former theater, with preserved stage and frescoes.
We enjoyed absolutely everything from the first meeting with the hostess to the last day of our stay in magnificent Venice. Next time only Manuela and her cozy house!
