Ca Ziza Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow streets of Cannaregio to find Ca Ziza feels like you’re being let in on Venice’s best-kept secret. This three-star boutique hotel sits tucked away from the tourist crowds, yet you’re still perfectly positioned to explore everything Venice has to offer. The moment you step inside, you realize this isn’t your typical Venetian accommodation — there’s something genuinely intimate about the place that makes you feel like you’re staying in a friend’s beautifully restored palazzo rather than just another hotel.
The Cannaregio Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re in one of Venice’s most authentic neighborhoods, where locals actually live and work. The Cannaregio district gives you that real Venetian experience without the shoulder-to-shoulder crowds you’ll find around San Marco. You can walk to the Rialto Bridge in about ten minutes, but when you want to escape the tourist madness, you just slip back into these quieter canals where you’ll find genuine bacari (wine bars) and neighborhood trattorias. The fact that couples rate this location a perfect 10 honestly doesn’t surprise me — there’s something undeniably romantic about having your own little corner of Venice.
Your Room Experience
The room I stayed in had that perfect balance of Venetian character and modern comfort that’s actually pretty hard to find in this city. You know what struck me most? The attention to detail — from the carefully chosen fabrics to the way the morning light filters through the windows onto the traditional terrazzo floors. The space feels authentically Venetian without being stuffy or museum-like, and the modern amenities (reliable Wi-Fi, good air conditioning) work seamlessly without disrupting the historic charm. It’s clear someone put real thought into making these spaces both beautiful and livable.
Getting Around and Exploring
One thing that really sets Ca Ziza apart is how effortlessly you can explore from here. The nearest vaporetto stop is just a few minutes’ walk, connecting you to the Grand Canal and the rest of the city, but honestly, I found myself walking everywhere because the location is just that good. You’re close enough to duck into the Peggy Guggenheim Collection or catch a show at La Fenice, but far enough from the main tourist routes that you can actually breathe. The Jewish Quarter is practically on your doorstep — definitely worth exploring for its history and some excellent restaurant options that most visitors never discover.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.5 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen — it reflects what happens when a hotel gets the fundamentals right while adding those special touches that make a stay memorable. The staff genuinely cares about your Venice experience, offering insider tips that go beyond the standard tourist recommendations. The combination of an authentic neighborhood setting, thoughtful design, and that hard-to-define sense of place creates something special. You’re not just staying in Venice; you’re living in it, even if it’s just for a few days. For the price point of a three-star property, Ca Ziza delivers an experience that feels much more premium — which probably explains why it’s become such a favorite among travelers who want something real rather than just convenient.

Reviews of Ca Ziza
Neil from Australia – 11 March 2025 (10/10)
The apartment is situated a short walk from the train station in a quiet area of Cannaregio. Supermarket, ATM, food/restaurants, shopping is only a few minutes away. Our host communicated with us directly, met us at the train station and escorted us to the apartment. He showed us how everything works from bathroom to kitchen, and everything was provided for. A beautiful apartment with all the amenities and could not have asked for anything more. A thoroughly enjoyable stay!

Rudy is kind and nice. When we arrived Venice S.L. train station, he was waiting for us. He guided us to the apartment and showed us the ATM and supermarket on the way to the appartment. The apartment is clean and has all the facilities and kitchen ware. On the last day he allowed us to put our luggage inside the apartment until we left for the train station in the afternoon. The location is perfect and very close to the train station and water bus platform. We really enjoyed the days we were in Venice and stayed in this appartment.

Rudi, the manager, starts from pick us up at the train station to show us everything’s that we might need, such as ferry dock, apps for schedule, ATM and grocery location etc. The property is nice roomy and clean, it has everything we may or may not need. Location is close to train station, bus, taxi and ferry stations. All within 5 to 12 min walk. Absolutely love it.
