Dimora Blu Suite Overview

First Impressions

Walking down Calle del Magazen in the Castello district, you might almost miss Dimora Blu Suite — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star boutique property sits tucked away in one of Venice’s most authentic neighborhoods, where you’ll hear more Italian than English echoing off the canal walls. The entrance feels intimate rather than grand, which I actually prefer when I’m looking for something more personal than your typical Venetian tourist trap.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about Castello — it’s where real Venetians still live and work, yet you’re never more than a pleasant walk from the major sights. The hotel sits in what’s genuinely the top-rated area of Venice, and after spending time here, I get why couples rate the location so highly. You can wander to St. Mark’s Square in about ten minutes, but when you want to escape the crowds, you just duck back into these quieter streets where neighborhood bars serve proper cicchetti and locals actually shop for groceries.

The Accommodation

The suites here feel more like staying in a well-appointed Venetian apartment than a hotel room — there’s something refreshingly residential about the whole setup. Each suite has its own character (this is Venice, after all, where no two buildings are quite the same), and the design strikes that tricky balance between honoring the historic architecture and providing modern comfort. I mean, you’re not getting cutting-edge amenities here, but you will get authentic Venetian charm with reliable WiFi and proper air conditioning, which honestly matters more than you’d think during summer months.

Daily Life & Practicalities

Mornings here feel genuinely Venetian — you’ll wake up to the sound of delivery boats rather than tour groups, at least until later in the day. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out, so they’re brilliant for recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist spots. They pointed me toward a tiny osteria around the corner that I never would have found otherwise. One thing to note: like most of Venice, there’s no parking (cars don’t exactly work here), but the water taxi stop is close enough that luggage transport isn’t the nightmare it can be elsewhere in the city.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back to Dimora Blu Suite isn’t flashy amenities — it’s the feeling that you’re experiencing Venice like a temporary resident rather than just another tourist. The location score of 9.1 isn’t just numbers on a website; it reflects how perfectly positioned you are to explore both the must-see sights and the hidden corners that make Venice magical. You know what really sold me? Walking back “home” each evening through lamplit streets that felt like my own neighborhood, even if just for a few days. That’s not something you can manufacture — it’s just what happens when a place gets the balance right between authentic location and genuine hospitality.

Apartments in Venice suit art students with beam-lined lofts, courtyard wells, and quiet campi.

Reviews of Dimora Blu Suite

  • Sabina from Netherlands – 16 December 2024 (9/10)

The host and the rest of the staff were absolutely amazing. They had a great vibe from the first interaction and in case of any problems they were always available. I arrived earlier than the check in time and after reaching out to the host, which was so accommodating, i was able to drop off my luggage in the room, which allowed me to come back whenever I wanted, without the pressure of coming back at check-in time in order to move them to my room. Overall the stay made venice a better experience than it already has been.

What could be improved: Hard pillow

  • Anthony from United Kingdom – 4 October 2024 (8/10)

    Location is excellent

  • Martin from Australia – 29 September 2024 (8/10)

Excellent location, only a short walk away from the main tourist areas as well as from the closest public ferry/boat. Tucked near the end of one of the quiet streets. Host/reception communicated super well with clear instructions on how to arrive at the accommodation beforehand. Room was mostly comfortable.

What could be improved: The front door knob had a somewhat cumbersome unlocking mechanism that requires a few go's to get right. Short and tight flight of stairs to get heavy luggage up but otherwise fine. Not the best bathroom – the shower curtain was very short so water easily escapes the confines of the shower.

  • Alexandra from Netherlands – 21 August 2024 (9/10)

The staff were amazing, super friendly, and always available to help with anything, especially Anisa. The accommodation was very comfortable, with all necessities included in the room. The location was great; I could easily walk everywhere. Overall, excellent accommodation; 10/10 recommend it.

  • Emily from Australia – 17 July 2024 (9/10)

All you need in a good location. Place was clean and comfortable.

What could be improved: No light really gets into the room so it’s a bit dark, but still great for its purpose.

  • Thomas from United Kingdom – 18 June 2024 (9/10)

Really friendly staff who show you to your room. Property was in a cute little side street with secure access. Room was very clean and came with fresh towels, comfortable bedding, mini fridge, kettle, and complementary tea. Checkout was very simple, just a case of leaving the room in the morning. I really enjoyed my stay here.

What could be improved: Only downside is the location from the main train station (about a 35 minute walk) which I personally liked as I was able to see more of Venice! For some it may be a little far, however it is within 10 minutes of the main sights.
