Hotel Description

Nestled in the heart of Venice’s artistic Dorsoduro district, the three-star Residenza Centopietre – Dorsoduro by Wonderful Italy offers an authentic Venetian experience away from the crowded tourist centers. This charming establishment, with its respectable 7.0 rating, provides a comfortable base for travelers seeking to immerse themselves in the genuine character of Venice. Located at Campiello Centopietre, 1198, the residenza sits in one of Venice’s most culturally rich neighborhoods, known for its museums, galleries, and traditional atmosphere. The Dorsoduro area strikes a perfect balance between accessibility to major attractions and a more relaxed, local ambiance that many visitors to Venice ultimately cherish the most.

The Residenza Centopietre enjoys a strategic position that allows guests to easily explore Venice’s magnificent cultural landscape. Just a short walk from the accommodation, you’ll discover the prestigious Gallerie dell’Accademia, housing the most important collection of Venetian paintings from the 14th to 18th centuries. The avant-garde Peggy Guggenheim Collection is also nearby, offering a striking contrast with its modern masterpieces. For those seeking architectural splendor, the baroque church of Santa Maria della Salute stands majestically at the entrance to the Grand Canal, its distinctive dome defining part of Venice’s iconic skyline. The vibrant Campo Santa Margherita, a beloved gathering place for locals and visitors alike, provides a selection of cafés and restaurants where you can savor authentic Venetian cuisine while watching the world go by. The famous Zattere promenade, facing the Giudecca Canal, is perfect for romantic sunset strolls with breathtaking views across the water.

What sets Residenza Centopietre apart is its ability to offer guests a glimpse into the real Venice, beyond the typical tourist experience. Managed by Wonderful Italy, known for their commitment to authentic hospitality, the residenza combines traditional Venetian elements with essential modern comforts. While maintaining a solid 7.0 rating, this three-star accommodation represents excellent value in a city known for its premium prices. The Dorsoduro district itself is a treasure, less crowded than San Marco or Rialto, yet brimming with character and artistic heritage. From the residenza, guests can wander the atmospheric calli (Venetian streets) and discover hidden campi (squares), artisan workshops, and local bacari (wine bars) serving delicious cicchetti (Venetian tapas). The proximity to multiple vaporetto stops ensures easy connections to other parts of the city, including the must-see St. Mark’s Square and Rialto Bridge, while the nearest traghetto crossing provides a charming and affordable gondola experience across the Grand Canal. For travelers seeking a balance between accessibility and authenticity, Residenza Centopietre – Dorsoduro by Wonderful Italy provides a doorway into the soul of Venice, where centuries of history, art, and tradition blend seamlessly with the rhythms of contemporary Venetian life.

Reviews

  • Alec from United States – 28 May 2024 (7/10)

The location was nice and quiet with plenty of restaurants nearby. It was about a 10-minute walk from the Ca' Rezzonico water bus stop and 15 minutes to St. Mark's. Google Maps took us right to the front door. The room was spacious and clean, with a nice bathroom. No problems with AC or hot water. The host was easily accessible and let us store our luggage in the common room on our departure day.

  • Willow from United Kingdom – 16 March 2025 (7/10)

    location and cleanliness

What could be improved: the bathroom being separate from room felt uncomfortable using it knowing we could bump into people

  • Amy from United Kingdom – 22 June 2024 (8/10)

Bed was very comfy, aircon and WiFi were amazing. Location was a perfect spot for everything and was all round a really nice place to stay, really made our stay in venice stress free and easy.

What could be improved: Shower head and stand could do with a little TLC but that is me being very picky. Would definitely stay again.

  • Roger from Italy – 13 May 2024 (8/10)

Very comfortable and clean. Met all my needs.

What could be improved: A bit anxious about the process of renting. Some small confusion about paying and getting access information.

  • Maria from United Kingdom – 4 March 2024 (7/10)

    Location, clean, confortable.

    What could be improved: Pillows

  • Suha from Iraq – 4 March 2024 (8/10)

The closeness to the main attractions. the room is clean and warm, and it is cozy. I loved the experience.

    What could be improved: mosquitoes

  • Stephanie from United Kingdom – 10 December 2023 (8/10)

Really good communication from the accommodation re directions and gaining access – all of which was contactless. We stayed in the Cotton Room which was a bedroom and bathroom. Ample room for a couple and for a base to sleep. Plenty of room for hanging clothes (maybe about 6 or so hangers). Nice and warm in the winter too (and seems to be air con for the summer). Quiet part of the city with a fantastic bakery just round the corner with gorgeous croissants and good coffee. Very close to the Academia waterbus stop and About a 20 min walk from the bus station. There is a common area with a fridge with designated shelves for each room if you need it.
Really only very minor issues and its just more for info – it advertises a coffee machine – but there arnt any pods to use the machine and no instant coffee (but there is tea bags) available (but as I say, gorgeous bakery just round the corner so can't say this bothered us too much).
All in all a great base for a good price!

  • Adriana from Romania – 19 November 2023 (8/10)

Location was very easy to find.
The room was very big and clean, the bathroom large.
    They warm up the room.

What could be improved: Please, warm up the room all the nights!
It was cold second night, I slept with extra clothes.

  • Christiaan from Netherlands – 6 November 2023 (8/10)

What could be improved: The common room should have plates or something. It is impossible to eat at the location. While there is a very nice dining room… could be improved.
