Terrazza Rialto Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Terrazza Rialto, you immediately get that feeling you’ve stumbled onto something special — and honestly, you have. This three-star gem sits right in the heart of San Polo, and I mean right in the thick of things. The building itself has that weathered Venetian charm you can’t fake, with those gorgeous old stones that have been watching gondolas drift by for centuries. What struck me first was how the staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests arrive, not just going through the motions like at some places.

Location That Actually Matters

Look, everyone says their Venice hotel has a great location, but Terrazza Rialto actually delivers on that promise. You’re literally steps from the Rialto Bridge — I’m talking a two-minute walk where you’ll pass maybe three souvenir shops instead of fighting through crowds for twenty minutes. The Rialto Market is right there too, which means you can grab fresh fruit for breakfast or just soak in that authentic Venetian morning bustle. What I really appreciated was being able to duck back to the hotel easily when my feet got tired from all that walking on stone streets.

The Rooms

The rooms aren’t huge — this is Venice, after all, where space is more precious than gold — but they’re thoughtfully designed. Mine had this lovely view over a quiet canal, and you know what? Sometimes the smaller canals are actually more charming than the Grand Canal chaos. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with Italian marble all night. The bathroom was compact but functional, with decent water pressure, which honestly can be hit or miss in these old Venetian buildings.

Why Couples Love It

I can absolutely see why this place gets such high marks from couples — there’s something genuinely romantic about the whole setup. Maybe it’s the way the evening light hits those canal views, or how you can slip out for a quiet dinner at one of the nearby bacari without dealing with tourist hordes. The staff seems to understand that people come here for those special moments, so they’re not intrusive but they’re there when you need them. Plus, being able to walk to both the Rialto and San Marco areas means you get the best of both worlds without the hassle of water taxis every time you want to explore.

Why Guests Keep Coming Back

What really sets Terrazza Rialto apart is that perfect balance between being in the center of everything while still feeling like you’ve found your own little corner of Venice. The location score speaks for itself — you’re not going to find many places that put you this close to major sights while keeping you away from the worst of the crowds. It’s the kind of place where you can actually imagine living like a Venetian for a few days, not just checking sights off a list. The three-star rating might seem modest, but sometimes that means you get genuine hospitality instead of stuffy formality.

Reviews of Terrazza Rialto

  • Luciana from Germany – 25 October 2024 (9/10)

Such a great apartment and very nice location and team!

  • Jonathan from United Kingdom – 8 October 2024 (8/10)

Very handy location near the Rialto Steps, and the vibrant San Polo area. Apartment lovely light and airy, with lots of space for our family of 4 adults. Terrace would have been amazing if it hadn't been raining!

What could be improved: Was a little difficult to find in the dark, on an unlit side street. I thought the host was meeting us at the water taxi stop which would have been great. More/better pillows needed on the beds.

  • Jonathan from United States – 5 October 2024 (8/10)

The location is perfect – right near Rialto Mercato and Rialto Bridge. Lots of good nearby restaurants and stores. The apartment is huge, and it has a very nice terrace.

What could be improved: When we arrived, we had to stand outside (dark and cold) for 30 minutes waiting for someone to bring us the keys. Our contact apparently didn't see our airport arrival email for almost 45 minutes. There are 55 steps up the stairs to the apartment (no lift). The hot water lasts about 3 minutes in the shower, so you have to be quick. The supplies were minimal (e.g., inadequate coffee for our three mornings, one small bar of soap, etc.).

  • Shawn from Canada – 27 March 2024 (9/10)

It was a great place to stay. It was very clean and spacious. The kitchen was nice and we used it without difficulty. It was in a nice area and literally 1 min away from the Rialto bridge. It was also close to the vaporetto stations so we could use it to travel back and forth to different sites and islands in Rome.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Sheila from United States – 21 July 2023 (9/10)

Loved the location, apartment was beautiful and enjoyed the terrace.

What could be improved: The beds were a bit too hard. It would be nice to have a featherbed or foam option to put on top for guests that prefer a softer bed. The water pressure in the shower was not the best (it was the top floor so it’s normal). If there was a way to increase the pressure that would be good. Also maybe provide specific coordinates for the address. The address booking.com provided when saving to your calendar was wrong.

  • Jenna from Canada – 28 June 2023 (9/10)

This property surpassed our expectations. Very spacious apartment with 3 bedrooms, cute decor, full kitchen/pantry with large living area, and a massive terrace overlooking the Venezia rooftops. Steps from Rialto Bridge, yet extremely quiet. The representative that welcomed us was amazing – friendly and charismatic with helpful recommendations and tips for our stay. Communication with the host was easy and prompt. Air conditioning in every room which was wonderful after a hot day exploring Venezia, as well as laundry (rare)! Perfect stay for our family of 5. Would definitely stay here again.

What could be improved: Hot water for the shower was inconsistent, but with the heat of summer, the odd cold shower here and there was not a deal breaker.

  • Evelina from Lithuania – 26 June 2023 (9/10)

Big appartment with all needed equipment and lovely terrace in great place.

    What could be improved: None

  • Mark from United States – 29 May 2023 (9/10)

About 1 minute walk from Rialto bridge, this apartment is in a great location, but off the main streets so quiet. 3 nice rooms, one bath and nice deck. Plenty of natural sunlight, and functional AC.

What could be improved: We had problem with hot water, could only get about 1 1/2 showers for our family of 5. Owners said there was a way to prime the system but we couldnt figure it out.

  • Andrei from Romania – 9 May 2023 (9/10)

    Spacious & Clean. Friendly people.

  • Danielg from Bulgaria – 25 May 2022 (9/10)

All is like described! Hosts are very nice and supportive! Everything was very easy and calm! We were enough informed about details! I only can recommend! Apartment is in the hearth of Venice, in less then minute to Rialto! Great experience!

What could be improved: One thing you only: if possible for the future on the back side of the apartment to put mosquito nets! At that time are a lot of mosquitos…or to supply mosquito repellents available in the apartment.
