VENICE SUITE DORSODURO Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow streets of Dorsoduro to find VENICE SUITE DORSODURO, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a three-star property in one of Venice’s most coveted neighborhoods. But when I spotted that private entrance on Campiello Squero, tucked away from the tourist crowds, I knew this place was something different. The location alone — I mean, you’re literally in the heart of one of Venice’s most authentic districts, where locals actually live and work.

The Dorsoduro Advantage

Here’s what most travelers don’t realize about staying in Dorsoduro: you’re positioned perfectly between the major sights without being trapped in the chaos. The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is practically around the corner, and you can walk to St. Mark’s Square in about fifteen minutes through some of the most beautiful back streets in Venice. What I loved most, though, was how this area comes alive in the evenings when day-trippers head back to the mainland. You’ll find yourself sharing aperitivos with Venetians at local bacari — something that’s increasingly rare in this city.

The Suite Experience

The suite itself surprised me with how thoughtfully designed it was for the space constraints you’d expect in Venice. Everything felt purposeful rather than cramped, and the private entrance means you’re not dealing with hotel lobby crowds or rigid check-in times. The decor strikes that tricky balance between Venetian character and modern comfort — you know what I mean, where you feel like you’re in Venice without drowning in over-the-top period furniture. The windows open onto the campiello, and honestly, just listening to the sounds of neighborhood life was worth the stay alone.

Practical Perks

What really sets this place apart is how it solves the typical Venice accommodation headaches. That 9.7 location score isn’t just marketing fluff — you’re genuinely well-positioned for everything. The nearest vaporetto stop connects you easily to the train station and airport, but you’re also in prime walking territory for most of Venice’s highlights. I found myself using water taxis less than I expected because so much was accessible on foot. Plus, there’s something refreshing about having your own entrance after a long day of sightseeing — no shared elevators or lobby small talk required.

Why Guests Love It

The 9.4 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s that rare Venice accommodation that delivers an authentic neighborhood experience without sacrificing comfort or accessibility. Couples especially seem to appreciate the romantic setting — and I get it, there’s something special about having your own little Venetian hideaway rather than just another hotel room. The fact that you’re staying in Dorsoduro, where many Venetians would love to live if they could afford it, adds a layer of authenticity that’s hard to find elsewhere in the city. For a three-star property, it punches well above its weight class.

Hotels in Venice perch on Grand Canal bends, quiet sestieri, and private lagoon islands.

Reviews of VENICE SUITE DORSODURO

  • Mariia from Czech Republic – 3 March 2025 (10/10)

The accommodation was great. It was important for us that the apartment is well situated, clean and equipped with the kitchen. We stayed very happy with the apartment. It was warm, clean, close to the center and riverside. The host Francesco is friendly and helpful. We would like to recommend this apartment for stay in Venice.

  • Kseniia from Sweden – 18 November 2024 (10/10)

Very nice, helpful and kind host with personal approach, we will be happy to get a place to stay from him again

  • Dianne from United States – 20 October 2024 (10/10)

There was plenty of room for 2 of us. The bedroom has good space. Kitchen/living area was good. Bathroom was small, but that’s not where you spend your time. It had a good shower. Location right up the path from the Rezzonico vaporetto stop made it easy to travel. Francesco was helpful and responsive when we had a minor problem.

What could be improved: Missed having a television but we did ok.

  • Nemanja from Bosnia and Herzegovina – 3 September 2024 (10/10)

Apartment is great. Comfort. There is bedroom with double king bed and living room with small kitchen. Two fridges and bathroom is great especially becouse it has washing mashine. I was on motorbike so I wash my clothes there. You can't do that in hotel. It was on ground level but quite place. Just 5 minutes from Zattere boat bus station and 5 min if walk from a CaRezzoncio. Owner Francesko is great. We communicate over Whats App

What could be improved: It would be good that you can check in earlier like at 11 AM or 12AM but check in is from 3PM becouse of cleaning but Francesko allowed me to leave my bugs and I was exploring the Venice. 🙂

  • Louise from France – 4 August 2024 (10/10)

The apartment is perfectly located in Dorsoduro, very calm and close to nice locations like Campo Santa Margherita or Campo San Barnaba.
It was very clean and has air conditioning, which is key in Venice during summer.
The host was also very nice and responsive, we highly recommend !

  • Indiana from Australia – 20 July 2024 (10/10)

Great sized apartment. That had everything we needed e.g washing machine, ironing board.

  • Mischa from United States – 11 July 2024 (9/10)

Lovely apartment, tacked away from hustle and bustle. It was quiet at night, which we loved. The bed is comfortable with memory foam. The apartment is conditioned which is a key in July heat!
The host was very welcoming and explained all the details about the house and the area. Would definitely stay again.

  • Joanne from Australia – 2 July 2024 (10/10)

Location was brilliant. Close to vaporetto, restaurants and bars and very quiet and peaceful.

  • Lina from Canada – 16 June 2024 (10/10)

very kind owner, comfortable stay and near everything

  • Gerasimov from Russia – 23 November 2023 (10/10)

The apartment is very clean and newly renovated. The bed and pillows are comfortable, sound isolation is perfect, Wi-Fi and heating are fully satisfactory. If you need to do laundry, there is a washing machine and gel for washing. Small kitchen is equipped with brand new inductionary stove with two cookers and all the most necessary appliances.
The hosts are very polite and helpful. Francesco kindly offered us to do the early check-in, as soon as we were ready for it.
The quite and atmospheric location near Campo San Barnaba is absolutely lovely. It's ten minutes walk from the bus station and ten minutes – to San Marco square.

What could be improved: The only minor annoying thing was that the coffeemaker, which is all new and perfectly working as everything else in this apartment, is designed for true espresso lovers. If you prefer americano (with more water, less coffee and larger portion), you have to repeat making it for several times. It would also be nice to have essential ingredients for cooking such as oil and salt in the kitchen. But these are not very big problems actually.
